Leaving from Montréal

Hi,
We live close to Ottawa so we always cross the border at 1000 Islands. On our next trip we will leave from Montreal because of a medical appointment in Laval. We should be in Lacolle around 1pm. Wich route do you take from there. Thanks

It's fairly easy, once you cross at Lacolle just follow I87 until you hit I95 (at the end of New York State) then take I95 until Florida.. not sure after exactly how to get to Orlando since we don't drive to Disney!

I would personaly go back through the 1000 island bridge. Way better only one toll

I'd go back as well and take I81/77/26/95 down. If you pick up the 95 that far north, you will hit major cities. The time it takes you to go back to the 1000 islands bridge will easily be made up by the traffic you'll avoid.

You can still go that route when leaving from Montreal, we do it! Go down I87 from Lacolle, then 287-78-81-77-26-95 and voilà! Only one toll if I remember correctly and usually less traffic than I95 all the way down

That's what we do and we are 15 min from Laval.

This is an update on how we made it. We left Laval at 12:05 pm, took 440, 13 andthen the 40 and 401 up to 1000 islands. Then used our regular itinirary wish is 81, 83 695 (to bypass Baltimore) is was around 10pm so not much traffic 495 (to bypass Washington), and then 95 up to 4 and step foot in the world at 12:30pm so again a 24:30 hour drive.
So it answered our existential question: not much difference going true Lacolle or go back to 1000 islands.Now let's enjoy

We took that route last year but we were stuck for 4 hours in Virginia, we will try to take I-81 to 77-26-95. That takes us further down of the 95. I love the 81.
