For those flying Delta out of Logan, how early have you arrived prior to your flight? We have a 7 am flight on a Friday morning and was wondering how early to be there. We usually arrive at 6 am and the eticket says arive 60 minutes prior to departure. However, I have heard of people arrive 90 to 120 minutes early now? Just wondering how the lines at curbside hae been. Thanks!

Hi,

We flow out of Logan on Aug 12th on Delta Express on the 9am flight. We arrived at 7:15am and used the Kiosk Self Check-in and that took all of 5-10mins not even. We then proceed to the security check point and another 10mins or so.

We timed it and from the point that the cab picked us up at our house to when we sat down to wait at our gate 42mins went by. It takes about 15 to 20 mins to drive to the airport from our house so the other 20mins or so was for check-in and securiity.

This was using the Kiosk Self Check-in. There were very, very long lines for regular check-in and curb-side check-in.

We also used the Kiosk Self Check-in at MCO for our return flight and the whole process took 20mins at the most at MCO also.

Hope you have a great flight.

Thanks for the information Tiffany. I'll have to read up on the kiosk because we've never used it.

Thanks again!

Just go to Delta.com and they have a demo. It was our first time using it on our trip in Aug and we will always use it from now on. At both MCO and Logan the regular check-in and curbside check-in lines were very long.

We're going to be on the same flight!!!! :D

My DH and I are from Maine - We're coming to Boston on Thursday and flying Delta Friday morning at 7 am!!!

PM me if you want to chat, and I'll email you my email address (I don't like posting it on a public forum!)

Hey Everyone-
I checked out the kiosk demo... I'm not a skymiles member... so I can still use it right? I just skip over the skymiles portion???

I already have my seat assignment (supposedly), my TA told us what seats were reserved for us...

I just don't have any tickets (etickets), I'm new to those, I know I don't get any Paper tickets... but after hearing some horror stories... all I have in writing right now is my confirmation from my TA.

oh well, I have a little over 2 months to get my act together!!

Jeanny;

Can I ask why you're not a skymiles member? I joined about 4 years ago - you get free miles to join!

They have so many great programs to earn miles - even without flying! I've been on two flights (Boston to Ft. Lauderdale for both) and have over 50,000 miles accumulated because of the extra programs!! That's 2 free tickets!! :D

Just give Delta a call, or sign up online!!! Yes, you'll get skymiles for the flight you have booked!

Good luck!!!!

Thanks so much for your help Crystal... I never thought about it actually. I didn't even think about signing up for it now either. The last time I was on a plane was three years ago, so I figured it wasn't worth it as I don't fly much, but I'll sign up for it right now...

Hi Jeanny!

You're very welcome! Be sure to sign up for their dining program - here in Maine we don't have many restaurants listed, but the Boston area has tons (I'll assume your from the Boston area since this is a "leaving from Boston" thread! :D ). With that you register a credit card (I used my Visa Debit Card) and you get 10 points for every dollar you spend (I believe that even includes tip and tax!).

Have fun racking up your skymiles!!! :jester:
