Leaving for Disney on Sunday & I have last minute questions

OK,

I have some last minute questions. We will have the kids with us (ages 3 & 4), they have never been before. How is the Alice in Wonderland ride--too scary for kids? Also, I plan on bringing my double stroller. I was going to keep jackets, jucie boxes, etc. in the basket part of it. Does this type of stuff get stolen? Should I keep it in my backpack? Any tips would be appreciated!

Alice was down while we were there, but as I recall it is no scarier than Snow White or Peter Pan.

Evryone leaves coats, backpacks etc. in strollers while they are riding rides. In fact, we had someone mistake their DL stroller for ours and put their camcorder in it, by a total miracle....we found them just moments later, before they'd even missed it, and returned the camera.

I just wouldn't leave money, camera or valuables unattended.....but the other stuff seemed fine, we didn't lose a thing!

Alice falls between Peter Pan and Snow White as far as scary. If your kids have seen Alice they won't be scared.

I would get a locker for the day to put coats and jackets in if you don't need them during the day.

I'd suggesting bringing those sound muffling headphones for them. The dark rides can be very loud for little kids. When my DD was 4 the noise was too scary for her, causing us to skip several dark rides. Next time we picked up a pair at a sporting goods store for $10 and it made a huge difference in her enjoyment.

Alice is my favorite ride in the whole park. I think its closer to Peter Pan than Snow White and a lot easier on the eye than Pinocchio.

Don't leave stuff in your stroller. We got lazy in September and did leave a few things, and when we got back, DS's new pirate hat was gone. It was under a sweatshirt and my brother's baseball cap, so it didn't just blow away, it was taken.

It's been suggested elsewhere that a little kid took it, and while that does mitigate MY anger about it, to my son, gone was gone.

Also, once we got it to the attention of a "lead", someone beyond just the store employees when we asked if someone had turned it in, Disney did take care of it, but it was not fun to have something taken. Many people don't have things taken, but when you're the one who is stolen from, it's a rotten, rotten feeling.


Alice was fine, even though my 3 year old hasn't even heard the story of Alice. Snow White and Pinocchio on the other hand, well, I don't know how he feels about them, as I won't go on them since we went when he was 15 months old.

I have taken my 4 year old on Alice when he was 10 months, 18 months, 2 and 3. I took my 2 year old on it when he was 1. They are always right next to me and if they dont like something they close their eyes or hide their faces or hold on tight. I just walk them through any parts if they get scared and just make them understand its not real and it can be fun.

We are here now and it's FREEZING!!!! and WET!!!!. Why else do you think I'd be in the room. However; I must say that this morning we walked straight onto Splash Mt (2 times in a row), Haunted Man., Tikki Room, Pirates, can't remember what else, but we had NOOOOO lines. We had to come back to the room so that we could get some dry clothes because it's way to cold to stay in all the wet stuff. We have left everything in our stroller including auto.books and nothing has happened. I would suggest bringing all size Ziplocs I have really used them this time to keep things dry. Well I think we are going to head back now (park open till 12pm) I guess we won't see fireworks again tonight and well have to hope it's not raining tomorrow so we can see them and the parade.

Did you ride Alice? I'd probably try it with a 4 year old, but I would not take them on Snow White or Pinocchio. Those are really kind of scary for little kids and not fun enough to make them go.

We leave our stuff in the stroller all the time. Haven't had anything bothered yet. We don't leave valuables and I try not to leave souveniers because I think those to grow legs and walk off. I carry the camera and wallet with me at all times. If we're going to be gone from the stroller for a long, long time I may grab the backpack too, but usually just leave it.

We carry a backpack of valuables (ie, cameras and such) and leave food/jackets in the double stroller and haven't had problems. I just wouldn't leave anything in the stroller that you couldn't bear losing.

We have taken our 2 and 4 year old sons on Alice in Wonderland and all Fantasyland rides with no problems. Our sons both LOVE Alice in Wonderland. However, their 3 year old friend did not like Snow White or Toad's Ride (especially didn't like Toad's ride ). I'd try Alice first...if that's too scary, then probably the other dark rides in Fairyland will also be too scary...except for maybe Peter Pan. But this same three year old liked Matterhorn and Splash Mountain (which my kids don't like). So go figure. I think it really depends on the individual kids.
