Leaving for Disney in Feb, when do I order my Disney visa rewards card?

order it now - if you get additional rewards, you can redeem them to the same card if they are over $5.

It took 2 - 3 weeks to get mine.

I'd wait until after the first of the year. Cards usually expire December the year after you order it. IIRC.

I already have mine for our February trip. It expires 12/11. Then I'll transfer over whatever reward dollars I accrue between now and our trip and transfer those to the card at the last minute.

I would order it now with the minimum amount which is $20. Then when you are ready to go transfer the balance you will use. You can also do this at Guest Services at DTD. I did this and went to transfer when we arrived and found I had left my rewards card at home I went to Guest Services and they got me a new card with everything I wanted transferred. They were very helpful and it was quick. Apparently I'm not the only one who has done this from what the CM told me.

I'm waiting until January to order mine. As somebody else said, the expiration dates right now are 12/11. I'm hoping that it'll be 12/12 if I order in January. Of course I already know I'll be spending the whole thing (I'm paying for food with it until it's gone and my ADRs add up to a heck of a lot more than the balance on my account) so I'm not sure why I'm worrying.

I also follow with the recommendation to only order $20 on the card at first. That way if it gets lost in the mail I still have the majority of my balance on my account. It takes a few minutes online to transfer the rest of the balance to the card once it arrives. I do like to transfer it all before going but I also make sure to put the card in my carryon with the reservation info and other planning documents right away when I do the transfer so there's no way I can forget it.

I have never ordered one before the trip. I always go to guest services at the front of the park (have done it at MK and DHS) and received the rewards card while I was at WDW. I would then go to the ticket window and buy my park tickets if I needed them. Otherwise, we usually use it to pay for meals.

Make sure to tell everyone who checks your mail that it will be coming in an unmarked envelope. My DH mistook ours for junk mail and accidentally tossed it. Thankfully, they overnight mailed us another card free of charge.

Darn! I wish I had known you could get the card at the parks. I ordered mine before I left, but I have been home almost a week and it still hasn't arrived.

I called, and they told me it was within the normal time range for order & delivery.

We always get ours in Disney as well. Our last trip we even waited until the 3rd day of our trip so that they had printed a new bill and we had all of our points. (We normally use our for sounivers.)
