My DW and I are thinking of taking the DCL for a 7 night cruise to the Eastern Carribean. Our DS will be 2, we were curious as to how Flounders is. Did you feel safe leaving your children there? How much does it cost? Do you know what activities they have there?

We are only looking to go out one evening for ourselves.

Thank you for all your help.

We have not used Flounders, as we don't have little ones. But we visited it on our last trip in order to get photos for our website. and I was impressed with it, at least by sight. We also chatted with the crew members there, and they seemed to be a great bunch. If you want to see what it looks like, I have pics. on my website at: www.castawayclub.com

We used Flounders for our ds (2) in January on the Magic 4 of the 7 nights. Yes, I felt he was safe and well looked after. Decide on a secret password between the two of you as you must know that in order to pick your child up. There are small rocking horses, books, sitandspins, videos.....My son enjoyed it the first 2 nights, but then didn't want to "play with the kids" the other 2, but went in anyhow. I think he was just not wanting to be away from us....everything was new and different....musta been confusing for such a little guy. It is $6/hr with a 2 hour minimum. You may cancel with 4 hours notice. When you get on the ship, sign up for all the times you think you might want to use it....they will let you know each evening if you are approved for your next time. We got all the times we requested and canceled 3 of them due to his wanting to be with us.

We used Flounders Reef and was very happy with them. I hope DS will let us leave her there a few nights on our 7 day in 2 months. We had no problem the last trip except the first night there were some screamers in the nursery so she joined in. They beeped us & we picked her up, we could have just calmed her down but I just wanted her to get used to it slowly. She was reaching for the CM to take her the next night. I highly reccomend the nursery. There is a big window where you can peek in at your child without them seeing you just to make sure they are OK. They will also let you go in to get your child used to thier surroundings when first arriving or you can just hand them over.

Oh, also wanted you to know that your child may enjoy some of the shows. I knew that I wanted ds to see Disney Dreams (Thursday nite) because someone on the boards suggested it for little ones. We sat close and center......he LOVED it. I was amazed at how much he enjoyed it.....lots of tear water that night! Its was so much fun seeing him enjoy the magic. He still talks about The Blue Fairy (he took a shine to her) from that show, and how he wants now to go "swim in the Mickey Pool".

I also took him to seethe Island Magic Stage Show (Monday afternoon) and he enjoyed that too. Enjoy!
