Leaving behind a blizzard for Florida sun - A Week of Disney Dining UPDATED 4/2 Tangierine Cafe

You make all these places sound wonderful! I'm going on my first solo trip to DW in 15 days. I may have to add Les
Halles to my line up!

I loved Il Mulino too! I have an ADR in April for Via Napoli and am conflicted if I should switch.....the setting is VN is better but I have never been to VN but am worried about the food since I hear both good and bad reviews. Not sure what to do!

It you want pizza stay with VN, if you want pasta or other Italian specialties go to Il Mulino

Your dinner at Il Mulino looked wonderful. We ate there a couple of years ago, but weren't overly impressed. Looks like it deserves another try.

The Boardwalk Bakery

Strolling back from The Swan I decided to grab something sweet to enjoy in my room for the night. The Boardwalk Bakery has a myriad of options when it comes to soothing one's sweet tooth. From a several different cupcakes, to brownies, cookies, coffee cake, and oh so many other choices.

I decided to grab the Cheesecake Brownie.

I was a bit cautious on this because my only other experience with something like this was from my dinner at Be Our Guest a couple years ago. I got the Grey Stuff Brownie, and the brownie in that case was pretty much a brick, and more like a very overdone cookie. This however was fudgy goodness with soft texture more like a slightly more dense cake. Couple this creamy cheesecake it really helped to cut the intense chocolate taste of the brownie.

So this completes my first day/night in Disney. The next morning has me enjoying an early breakfast at The Animal Kingdom Lodge at Boma.

Loving your report. I will be heading to the Boardwalk Inn on Feb. 22 and you are helping with the excitement. I too am escaping the lovely winter weather of the northeast and just hope that the snow stops long enough for my flight to get out. Can't wait for your Boma review as we will be eating breakfast here for the first time this trip.

I'm one of the few people who even on vacation has a habit of waking up early to see the sunrise, not only do I get a great view, I also get an early start on my day. On the schedule was a breakfast at Boma at the AKL, and then spending most of the morning at Animal Kingdom.

How can you go wrong with that view from your balcony? Every sunrise and sunset I was in awe over what I got to view from my balcony. Forget Cinderella Castle, I'd take this every single time.

Onto Boma;

Boma, is perhaps one of my favorite places to get breakfast on the entire Disney property. I know most people don't like the hike out to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but if you plan on going to the Animal Kingdom the same day it just makes perfect sense. Book an early breakfast, go to Boma and then by the time you're done the park should just be opening up.

Plate 4: French Toast Bread Pudding with Caramel Walnut Sauce

First off, this was a massive amount of food. With no lunch tentatively scheduled for the day I decided to get my fill. Boma has the buffet staples and basics, along with other African flavored specialties. For people who may be hesitant about this, don't be. There are some really delicious options out there. Just to get your toes wet into the flavor profiles try the Goat Cheese and Chives Scrambled Eggs. 2 simple ingredients add such depth and complexity to something most people don't spend 4 seconds thinking about.

I have to say the breakfast potatoes might have been my favorite thing on the entire buffet. Roasted golden brown, with a nice crust on the outside, hints of paprika and served with onions and peppers as well. Boma also offers an omelette station for those who'd like that, and from what I saw every omelette looked absolutely scrumptious.

Another thing I noticed is that food was replenished very quickly. The chefs manning the stations would routinely swap out trays of food, even if they weren't half empty. Nothing got the opportunity to sit around and dry out.

I've never dined at Boma'a for breakfast, but it is a must for dinner on every trip. I agree with you on how often the trays of food were replenished.

Wow I am loving your reviews! You write exactly what I want to hear and your pictures are amazing!!

You pictures really are some of the best I've ever seen on the Dis! Thank you so much for sharing. :goodvibes

While I was a regular Boma dinner fan, I finally tried it for breakfast on my last trip, and LOVED it. Already planning to do it again next time around. Those scambled eggs with goat cheese and chives 110% won my heart. They're amazing! :cloud9:

I'm the opposite, I never did Boma for dinner, always for breakfast. I'm tempted to change that the next time I head down.

You are inspiring me to do a solo trip! Delicious!

Go for it. A solo trip can be whatever you want it to be. You can do whatever you want and not have to worry about compromising with other people

Wow I am loving your reviews! You write exactly what I want to hear and your pictures are amazing!!

Thanks for the compliments. Photography is a hobby of mine, and something that I enjoy fooling around with.

Your Boma breakfast looked amazing...I am starving now!

It was amazing! I got hungry just writing that short review and looking at the pictures again.

My original plan was to get a quick bite at Flametree BBQ at the Animal Kingdom, but I forgot that it was shut down for refurb. I was really looking forward to get those delicious onion rings, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Just a few pictures I took at my time at Animal Kingdom, I decided to head back to the Boardwalk and grab lunch from the Broadwalk Bakery.

This was the Fresh Mozzarella Focaccia, the sandwich is made up of oven-dried tomatoes, arugula, herb aioli, and obviously fresh mozzarella. I opted to not get the side of chips, well for two reasons, one it makes the sandwich 2 bucks cheaper, and they aren't fresh made chips like you could get at Roaring Forks at the Wilderness Lodge, or Captain Cooks at the Poly.

The sandwich itself was a delightful treat. I wasn't expecting much, but it really delivered on all levels. The focaccia was light and airy with a hint of olive oil, the oven dried tomatoes, added a bit of sweetness, the arugula a peppery kick. The herb aoili had hints of roasted garlic which just intensified all the flavors as well. The mozzarella was actually high quality stuff, it wasn't your run of the mill pre-packaged super market stuff. It was creamy, and very delicate, and there was a good amount of the stuff wedged inside the foccacia.

Simply for 7.49 you could do a lot worse in terms of food options. The sandwich doesn't look overly large but it was hefty, and kept me full until I was craving a snack in the Magic Kingdom.

I love your photos of Animal Kingdom. And, you should definitely try Boma's for dinner next time!

I forgot to mention, I am looking forward to your food report for Magic Kingdom. This is the one park I always struggle with when it comes to food.

Boma for breakfast is a must do for all our trips. We made a spur of the moment visit our first trip and now it's the last meal of all our trips. I could make a whole meal of the bread pudding.

I had the pleasure of dining at Boma for breakfast a couple of years ago with a friend and it was fantastic. I really enjoyed your review and pictures of it.
