leave MGM @ 7pm, get to GF for dinner?

I was curious if it would be possible to leave MGM (Osborne Lights) around 7pm when the park closes, and make it to the GF to eat dinner at 1900 Park Fare? According to allearsnet, the buffet is open until 8:30. Also, if we get there that close to the buffet ending, will there still be plenty of fresh food? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

1900 Park Fare virtually REQUIRES advance Reservations (ADR's).
I would never expect to be able to leave a park at CLOSING and get anywhere in less than a hour (sometimes more).
You didn't say WHEN you where going, and crowd-levels make a BIG difference.

The difference in this case is that Fantasmic! is probably going on at 7pm, so the crowds would be THERE... and there are fewer people standing in the bus line going to GF or Poly than some of the other resorts.

In general, Disney restaurants keep the buffet food better than many other restaurants, but it is STILL a "buffet" and that means certain compromises must be made... make your plans accordingly.
