Learned something new

Took a day trip Saturday with my 7-year old nephew to HS/MK. We bought a talking Boba-Fett at Star Wars Launch Bay, and while I was pretty sure we HAD to get it there, it was our first stop of the day, and I was annoyed at the thought of carrying this not heavy but pretty bulky bag all over the place. (The 7-year old of course swears he he will carry it all day, but we all know how that goes)
we leave HS for MK, and I decide we are getting a locker for Boba-Fett. At the locker rental, they tell me you can store any Disney Parks purchased item at package pickup for free (you have to have your receipt, of course)
I knew you could do package pickup at the front of the park, but had NO idea you could drop off items you purchased from other parks. Both drop off and pick up (which we did right after MSEP) were quick and painless.
Just posting this because in years and yeeeears of visiting Disney parks, I somehow had no idea this was an option.

When I went on my last "big" trip in 2006 you could do that or even just have them send it back to your hotel for free! That was a great deal for me. I always hesitated about buying things because of carrying stuff around (and possibly losing them). Once I found out about that I was happy. Your deal is obviously a good one, too, since it was just a day trip. Perhaps they should do more to announce this option when you buy stuff. That's how I learned about them sending things to the hotel for you is a cashier simply asked if I wanted them to do it.

I think the point of Mindy's post was that if you were carrying a Disney purchase INTO a park (a purchase made previous to entering that park) that you could STORE (at no charge) that outside purchase at the park's "package pick-up" desk until you leave that park later in the day.

And remember, that "package storage/pick-up" service is available to ALL guests, not just those staying at a WDW resort.
