Well I found out yesterday when you are making ressie changes think VERY CAREFULLY about what you're doing. We had initially had ressies at BWV for 6 nights the week before Easter. After reading the posts here about the construction being done, I decided to try to move us to another resort. I wanted BCV but they are booked solid, so I moved us to VWL. This would ordinarily be okay but this trip I'm going with DD25 and we hoped we could be close to Epcot as that is our favorite park. Well, I decided to try this morning and get us back at BWV thinking I would just handle the construction. Well too late, they are now booked up solid. Bummer :guilty:. I do have us on a waiting list at BCV, but I have a feeling our chances are not real good. Oh well, we do like VWL alot, but I sure was looking forward to walking to Epcot.

Late update - I called MS back and have us on the waiting list for both BWV and BCV now. Hopefully one of these two will come thru. If not, we'll just stay at VWL.

I would stick with what you have, and waitlist for BCV, BWV, preff and standard. And tell them you only want the entire stay, not part of it.

Sometimes it pays to be ignorant.

My daughter and I are booked for OKW 3/28-31. I am waitlisted for any other DVC resort that becomes available up until 7 days before reservation. I love OKW and have no problems if we don't get out waitlist. We have only stayed at OKW and it will be nice to try out new slide. Yet, I am anxious to stay/try out another resort - especially BCV since we own here too and have to stay.

My question after reading this thread:
Do I need to tell MS that I want all of my three nights? I did not know you could waitlist for only part of your stay. Will they automatically book me elsewhere? or call me when it's done.

Thanks. Have never waitlisted before.

You can waitlist 2 different ways. One is to ask for each night as the date opens or you can ask to waitlist for the entire stay. In your case with only 3 days I can't imagine you would want to move in the middle of your stay. Call MS on Mon and ask if you are waitlisted for for the length of stay or for each individual day. They also have a choice to either call you before changing the reservation or doing it and then mailing you a confirmation. You need to find out which option you are scheduled for. I usually ask for a call first.

Thanks Maureen - I will call on Monday. At the beginning of the call there was nothing available and when we were going through some of the options a studio at OKW became available so I didn't think of asking til I saw this thread.

We just got back from the BWV this afternoon (12/4). FWIW, I don't think anyone should be worried about construction - yes, if you seek it out, you can probably find where it is happening, but IMHO, it is very minor and if I had not read these boards, I wouldn't even have known anything was going on.

Saw no evidence of the piping rehab project in our hallway - either they are done or haven't gotten to the BWV hallway yet. There is nothing going on in the rooms. Heard no noise anywhere we ventured in the resort (other than people having a good time).

There is a tent over the area that the DVC sales offices formerly occupied. (Doc posted a picture of the tent in his post about the OKW slide). Looks like they are almost done with the demolition work. After that, I suppose they will start the landscaping work for the croquet lawn, but I can't imagine that will bother anyone - there will be some nice garden/canal views in that area when they are done.

Best wishes -
