Hi All,

Le Cellier used to be worshiped on these boards and lately I've heard some negative reviews (mainly a recent Dis Podcast). We had eaten there for dinner in November of 2006 and were thinking we would go back for lunch this year. However, I heard there's a new chef and the quality and quantity of the food has suffered severely. Has anyone eaten there recently? Any reviews would be greatly appreciated!

It's still on top's in our books.

We ate ther for dinner in November 2007, quality of the food and service was good.

We ate there in December for the first time ever! The food was fantastic. In fact we have reservations again in August. We usually try to choose different restaurants every time we go. Because it was so good we are going again!

have never liked le cellier....IMO it is like eating in a dungeon, and the food is just OK....in my 3 times there I found the service to be not that great and the restaurant overpriced

Have never liked it...your packed in there, poor CMs, food is average at best. I was never sure what all the hype was/is about.

We love it and make sure go everytime we're there.

In fact, we just had lunch there a few weeks ago and everything was fantastic as usual!

I think opinions are cyclical. It is (IMO) a good restaurant that is popular with people with not so exotic tastes. The dining plan made it popular. It is not large so it started to get hard to get a ADR. This only adds to a legend and it became one of THE places to go just because it was hard to get. This meant there was high expectations and some were disappointed. Then there is backlash and bad reviews. As with any Disney restaurants you have lots of people that love them and lots that hate them. I think Le Cellier is overrated but that is only because it is very highly rated. I still like it and we have ADR's for July.

We just got back on Feb. 12th. We went to Le Cellier for dinner one night. We thought it was very good!

I got the filet minion, it was perfect. The meat melted in your mouth and perfectly cooked. I had the cheese soup for the appetizer and didn't expected as much of a white wine flavor that I got but it was still very good. DH got the duck confit and he got a duck popsicle. The outside part was done but it was still frozen inside. So, he swapped that out for the caesar salad. The toasted cheese and the dressing were supurb!

Dh's creme brule was fantastic! Even better than the one that I got at the Yachtsman steakhouse. I got the chocolate moose, what a cute dessert! The mousse was terrific.

In all, the meal was terrific even though the duck wasn't prepared properly.

Yikes! Still frozen inside? That's a little scary and should not be happening!:scared1:

Sept. 08 (free DP, mind you) it was good, but not great. I would go back, DH wouldn't if it were OOP. I still love the pretzel bread, cheese soup and filet. I suspect we were just too full of food by the time we ate there to really enjoy it, though.

exotic tastes????......my idea of fine dining is steak tips at a pats game, and i still dont like the restaurant

Some people can't help but share there negative reviews on everything, IMO.

Our lunch there was one of my family's favorite meals of the whole trip. We can't wait to go back. :)

GO! See how you like it for yourself, don't get sucked into all the bad press.

Having eaten there before and after chef change, we felt that the food was not near as good this time (last month) as last time. Having just average food, combined with an extremely noisy atmosphere and having to wait past ADR times for a table, we are removing this from our rotating list of places to eat. At least for the next few trips.

I would not give it a negative review; it's more like an "average" review. I think anyone who has not tried it, should try it.

It's our favorite TS and have booked 3 ADR's for our July 4th week trip.

Each time we have been there the food has been fantastic!

It does get pretty loud since there are a lot of little kids there, and I have seen some get a bit out of control from sitting a long time.

I think it was my favorite lunch, the cheese soup was amazing. We did most of our table service meals for lunch, and I highly recommend it! :cool1:

It's one of our favorite restaurants. I just ate there in December and it was as good as ever. My favorite dish remains the filet with mushroom risotto.

We ate there for the first time last month and I really really wanted to like it, but it was just ok. The soup and bread were good but my steak wasn't served the way I asked for it and the service was a little off.
We're planning on another trip next year and don't think we'll be going back to Le Cellier.

We ate there for the first time in January and we were NOT disappointed. It was one of our favorite meals. We looved the bread esp. the pretzel bread. DH had the cheddar cheese soup. YUM! DS16 and I had the Duck Confit. He loved it. I didn't, so he had mine. DS12 had the shrimp cocktail. He didn't love it, but I did! DD8 had a salad, I think, and she loves salad. For our main courses, DH had NY strip and says "it was AWESOME!". I had the Mushroom Filet. OMG, it was divine. Really liked those fried parsnips on top and I had wondered about those. DS16 had the BBQ filet and liked it alot. DS12 had the grilled pork chop and loved it. DD8 loved her grilled steak. For dessert, DH and I had the Creme Brulee. Heavenly! I think DD8 and DS12 had ice cream sundaes and DS16 had sorbet? Not sure, but I know every really enjoyed this meal. The staff there was so friendly. I believe our server's name was Amber and she was from Vancouver. We will definitely return to Le Cellier. It was all we hoped it would be. Oh, and I have to say I was a bit worried because I had heard "dungeon" comments and all that, but we just found it to be cozy, not too crowded at all. We were there very early in the dinner service, so maybe that's why it wasn't a problem for us.

Enjoy your trip!!!

we've gone to LC a number of times (latest in oct 2007).
every time, we have found service good-very good, & the food mudane, & uninspired ~ not bad, but simply not worthy of more than a visit. atmosphere is dark (fitting in with the "theme", so expected), and tables close together (it is the smallest restaurant, hence the difficulty to get ADRs also).

i think ppl should try every restaurant for theirselves at least once, & make a decision based on their experiences & taste. we have tried it multiple times though (trying to give the restaurant every opportunity to live up to its hype), & we have no desire to return.
