Can anyone explain the difference to me please?

I've looked around on the Internet but cannot work it out :(

Has anyone had both of these from Le Cellier? I'd love to hear your views.

I love a good steak and having had the fillet from Le Cellier last time, this trip I really want to try one of the strip steaks but I have no idea which one to go for!

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

i am having the same dilemna. I cant decide WHAT to have. I LOVE steak. and they ALL look good. everything from the prime rib to the kansas city!

There is no diffrence ... the Kansas City and NY strip are the sample exact cut. I'm not sure if Le Cellier still has both on the menu anymore?

LC differentiated the two by preparation and the sides offered. Last October I had the NY, and one my my relatives had the KC. Mine was a traditional grilled strip with roasted potatoes. The other was blackened with a coffee rub, and came with mashed potatoes. I actually preffered the blackened strip.

I do not think there is a difference between the steaks themselves.

"New York strip steak is a cut of beef which is known by a variety of other names, including shell steak, Kansas city steak, top loin steak"

Personally I would try the Coffee rubbed one because I am a coffee addict.
But I would prefer the Gruyere Yukon Gold Potato Gratin to the cream cheese mashed potatoes.

There is some good info here on the cuts of meat.

top loin steak = strip steak = New York steak = New York sirloin steak = Kansas City steak = contrefilet = strip loin steak = New York strip steak = Kansas City strip steak = hotel steak = hotel cut strip steak = ambassador steak = club sirloin steak = strip sirloin steak

Is there a strong coffee taste to the Kansas City Strip steak?

I like the idea of the rub and it being blackened but I don't really like coffee!

You can order pretty much any of the starch sides listed with one of the entrees with any of the other entrees at nearly any disney restaurant including Le Cellier. DH and I do it all the time.

We go in a couple of weeks to LC for the first time. I planned on one of us having the K.C. coffee rubbed strip, but I was just checking out the menu on DIS and I do not see it listed. Is it an error on the DIS or did LC remove it from the menu?
