We still have a while before ADRs are due but I'm wanting to get a high-level outline of my top choices to the other families in our party. In my family it's DH and DD age 4 so that's why there are so many character things. princess:

My list is:

Dinner: Chef Mickey's
Lunch: Epcot Princess lunch
Dinner : 1900 Park Faire
Dinner : Grand Gathering Safari Celebration at AK

I have one more dinner 'slot' open and I'm wavering between Le Cellier or Coral Reef.

What would you choose if you were me?

Coral Reef for me. I know everyone loves Le Cellier, but IMO I would chose Coral Reef!

My experiences with Coral Reef have just been so-so. That being said - your DD may enjoy the meal more at Coral Reef because of the aquarium.

Extremely hard decision because we try to go to both of those restaurants each trip. My kids are also age 4 and they love Coral Reef because of the sharks and turtles they can watch throughout the whole meal. We also enjoy the food, which makes for a totally good experience. However, my all-time favorite meal in disney is the mushroom filet mignon at LeCellier and that is only served at dinner. So it's nearly impossible for me to vote between those 2 restaurants, but I voted for Coral Reef because of the entertainment for the little ones.

Food => Coral Reef steak was absolutely FABULOUS!...we did Le Cellier for lunch and I did not like the steak sandwich as much as I thought.

Atmosphere => Coral Reef...the fun lighting, theatre style seating and of course the gorgeous fish tanks. Just fun and enjoyable to be there... Le Cellier...dark basement...I love the Canada Pavillion, one of the prettiest but the restraunt has nothing interesting for children.

Ressies => Coral Reef easier to get a good time...Le Cellier, good luck with that!

Just some of my observations why Coral Reef is a great choice.

I'm suprised that Coral Reef has more votes with all the hype Le Cellier gets. :confused3

I am a New Englander so I am pretty picky about seafood and thought the Coral Reef was bad - especially due to price- they way overcooked our scallops and the food was not anywhere near the quality of Le Cellier- At the Coral Reef we did sit right in front near the tank so my 4 year old at the time loved it so that was the saving grace but we would not go back again- We like seafood over beef but if I had to pick one or the other I would go with -Le Cellier !
Go to Cape May for Seafood- same quality or better and cheaper

I can't possibly vote between the two, as these are our favorite 2 restaurants at Disney. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either!

Thanks for the input everyone! I appreciate everyone's advice.

I wish we could do both but with the GG taking up 2 TS credits, it means I have to cut something.

If your deciding on the best food, hands down LeCellier. Coral Reef hands down for atmosphere.

If you decide on Coral Reef, when you check in for your reservation, ask for a table down near the tank.

coral reef - DH had steak there in october and loved it - me, i had the best shrimp in pasta (plenty of shrimp, more than i expected!) - dessert was the chocolate wave and some 3 layered chocolate parfait - excellent!

and of course, you've got the aquarium - won't be seeing any fishies swimming at le cellier!!

What a hard choice! We love both! I preferred Coral Reef but my husband preferred Le Cellier. We sat on the second tier of CR and had a fantastic view of the tank. I think sitting closer wouldn't allow a panoramic view of all the fish. I know whichever one you pick, you'll enjoy it!

Have fun!:goodvibes

GG is not two TS credits..........it is one. CRT is the only character meal that requires two TS credits.

As for the vote, I picked Coral Reef because our last visit to Le Cellier was just not as good as it has been in the past.......Coral Reef has been a solid performer every time we have gone.

:thumbsup2

We did both on our trip last September with our boys, ages 4 and almost 2. We liked our meal at Le Cellier better than any other our whole trip. We thought the food at Coral Reef was just ok, but the fish and divers did entertain my boys for a little while. Since you have some other character meals I say do a more adult meal and try Le Cellier. However, if you do pick Coral Reef try to make an early dinner reservation since they seemed to get very backed up the later it got.

We are excited, we have ADR's for both places for our September 2008 trip! :thumbsup2

Luckily, our dinner at Coral Reef falls on my birthday so that will be memorable! :goodvibes I hope both places live up the high regards most people have of them, their food choices sound yummy!

Well, I think it all depends on where you're from.

Here in the Heartland, I have lots of access to really good beef. I can probably get a better steak at home. So, I'd go CR.

Got good seafood at home? Go the other way.

My DD has loved Coral Reef ever since she was 4. I also love the blackened catfish with grits. We took my DD to lunch at Le Cellier when she was 4 and she was really bored. The food was very good at Le Cellier but I always end up booking Coral Reef instead everytime.
