Le Cellier - is the food really Canadian?

That's what I'm curious to know...... and does "Disney" really pronounce poutine? I would think the Canadian CMs who work at Le Cellier would pronounce it to the poster's liking.

Don't even get me started on the so called poutine, or even the way Disney pronounces poutine. I'll save my poutine cravings for the chip truck down the street.

Im with you on that....the chip truck poutine is better than the ones served at Disney.
Although I havent tried the Poutine at Disney Springs though.

Exactly this, a "Quebecer" would pronounce it as "PUTIN", like the Russian president. Most Canadians (and pretty much every Canadian i've come across) pronounce it "POU-TEEN" though. In Toronto you'll never hear a non-french speaking Canadian saying "POU-TIN"....unless that person is from Quebec of course.

FYI, im not saying that ALL non-Quebecers pronounce it as "POU-TEEN". Maybe there are some that do...im just saying that i've never come across any.

If comparing to somewhere local is the measuring stick for meals at Disney, they all pale in comparison to what I can get by driving an hour or less from my house. The steaks from anywhere, the "best pizza ever" at VN, the seafood at anywhere, etc...all are drastically behind in both taste and value from what I can get locally.

How about comparing to something that tastes good and comes with decent service . This place was an epic fail on all counts


The steak at Golden Corral would probably hav been better.

Expecting proper poutine from anywhere in Disney would be like me expecting Flame Tree bbq to be comparable to what I can find here in NC and that thought is laughable.

I'd say most Canadians pronounce it with the silent "e" at least. I'm from Ottawa and my family is a mix of Franco-Ontarian, Italian and Scottish. Being so close to Quebec and having a French speaking family we pronounce it with the French flair. I work for the military and we've got people from all across the country, may be they have all picked up the French pronunciation but I have never heard it called POO-TEEN by a Canadian.

Id say thats incorrect. Sorry but here in Toronto I have not heard one person pronounce or as pou-tin. Ditto for pretty much everyone else I know that eats poutine. I guess ottawa is different since its closer to quebec than we are.
