Le Cellier go with lunch or dinner ADR?

Le Cellier for lunch or dinner?

  • Go for lunch

  • Go for dinner

  • Don't go at all (we're going but I thought some would want this option)

We have a dinner ADR for Le Cellier for our trip in May and I've been checking for a lunch ADR and just got one this morning.

I'm not sure which one we should go with. I'd love to not use 2TS credits, but then I've also read some reviews about the lunch filet not tasting good. The filet is what I really want (and the poutine, I'm a Canadian living in the States and I miss poutine!!) so if everyone thinks it tastes bad at lunch then we'll stick with dinner.

If you've been to Le Cellier since the signature change this month would you recommend keeping our lunch or dinner ADR?

I went for lunch in February and it was fantastic. We plan on going again :) I would just stick with the lunch because then you can save that TS credit and use it somewhere else! And make sure you get the chocolate moose!! :cloud9:

The poutine at lunch isn't fries with cheese curd, it's fries with plain old cheese (yes, and gravy). Not sure you should expect authentic Canadian poutine. They give you lots of fries too, split one.

The dinner poutine is different, but I haven't been to dinner yet.

Have done lunch at Le Cellier in the past and enjoyed it. We are doing lunch there again in September.

I was just reading that on a dining review someone linked on another lunch vs dinner at Le Cellier thread. The lunch poutine does not look good. The pictures of the dinner poutine do look really good though. Do they let you order to go? Like could I walk up when they first start dinner service and ask to order poutine to go?

I wouldn't waste the extra TS on dinner. We had lunch there, and it was very enjoyable!

They had the worst steak in all of disney. Teppan Edo steak was waaaaaay yummier and tastier!

Go for lunch, save the credits. The lunch poutine is still fries, cheese, and gravy. The dinner poutine has red wine reduction - definitely not authentic! And the filet will basically taste the same.

Since they went up to two dining credits and increased their prices, I will be sticking with lunch time  I will try lunch in August to see if it justifies the high price and if not, I won't be going back :scared:

I also think lunch reservations will become harder to get than dinner now because of the two dining credits and higher prices :scared1:

True, but it still sounds good! I think we've decided to keep our lunch ADR. Unless we decide to keep both, then I could really compare the two.
For the record, I was the person who raved about the dinner poutine in a review (and who hated the lunch poutine and everything else I had for lunch). But I don't think that's worth paying double the price for everything else you order.

Lunch is a better value ;)

We go twice for lunch during our vacation every May. It's really good, and we like it better than dinner - it's lighter fare and only 1TS. This yr we were only able to get one ADR. The other day I was able to get a 2nd ressie. Maybe we'll run into you if end up going to lunch. Enjoy! :goodvibes

I didn't vote because we've only been to LC once and that was for dinner before the change to signature, but if you're going for the fillet and poutine, they have those items at lunch at a substantial savings over dinner. I think the reason to go at dinner is if the new menu items appeal to you. I'm also trying to decide on lunch vs dinner but the issue that I'm having is that we like both menus - yes, we like the fillet, but we also find the new entrees and apps appealing/interesting.

Does anyone know what the latest time lunch will be served? I see that lunch is listed until 3 pm but there are reservation times available during the 3 o'clock hour. Do you get a lunch or dinner menu during this time?

I have not gone for dinner since it turned signature but I have seen the menu and it looks identical except for the prices

So for the same food I would just go for lunch and pay less or if your on the DP, use only 1 TS credit

I would check the menu again then. Dinner has plenty of new and improved items such as:

-Steak Tartare
-Lobster Chopped Salad
-Duck Breast & Confit
-Venison
-Rib-eye
-Leek and Goat Cheese Quiche with truffle
-Truffle crushed potatoes
-Lemon Cheesecake

Most people will order the exact same thing (cheddar soup, filet, maple crème brûlée), so I see your point.

To the OP; if I were planning on getting the mushroom filet as you are, there is no way in this world I would fork over 2ts at dinner for it, keep your lunch ADR. Why pay more for the same thing?

I would definitely agree with that. In fact, if I were on the DDP, I wouldn't even use 2 credits for the duck, cod, or salmon, which I really liked. The DDP certainly impacts perceived value.
