Le Cellier after many years

It must be popular since ADRs are hard to come by.!

LeCellier may be popular but nowhere close to it being as it once was is as much Epcot history as the double-decker bus that used to be seen. It used to be that if you did not make an ADR there at 180 days out you were not eating there at all. Just for the sake of it I entered every day remaining for the month of August for two (including this evening) and every evening was available except August 30th. I also picked a few dates at random over the next several months and no problems at all getting an ADR except Thanksgiving and New Years eve. In the past this would never be possible. Still popular? Yea I guess it is, but that's not saying much, even ABC Commissary is a popular CS. :rotfl2:

Agreed on the meat quality. Le Cellier has been so hit and miss imo that I now go at lunch and just get cheddar cheese soup and Le Celler poutine

That's what I get! Not because I've ever even had the meat. I just love those two things so much, and I can't eat it all!

If it were still 1 credit, you wouldn't have found those ADRs. Making it 2 credits and having an all day menu has surely opened up a ton of availability.

I think that the majority of people dining there now are newbs who don't know much about the Disney dining system. It built a reputation from when it was an exceptionally good choice of a 1 credit meal. I'd bet my lucky rabbit's foot that lots of people book it now based on that.

I wouldn't dispute this at all and agree 100% with you. Disney virtually did nothing to this place but jack up the price of the menu. The dining room remained as cramped as ever and the menu had very little change to it at all. Disney didn't even put a little paint on the barn, they just closed the doors at the end of the day and the next day they were now a signature restaurant.

I was a newbie myself when it was a 1 TS and bought into the hype, hysteria and almost legendary reputation of this place based on it being a 1 TS offering a steak. By dollar value it was pretty good. My experience however with the food, service and decor was a huge letdown. I have not been back since and highly doubt I ever will. Certainly not at signature prices.
