Hope that someone can help me out ... I need to figure out how to get 8 people (5 adults, 3 young kids) from LAX to Legoland, then a few days later from LL to Disneyland, then a few days later back to LAX. (Flights already booked.)

Driving ourselves is not an option ... First time to CA and the drivers in our party don't want to deal with freeways after a long flight (plus we would need 2 rentals and getting split up would just cause stress).

Commuter flights via United are too much $$$.

Public transit (e.g. Amtrack) seems like it could be an expensive challenge for the 8 of us ... Especially with having our luggage and needing to switch trains multiple times.

Leaning towards a shuttle / private van service, but not sure who to go with - any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Want something reliable with a good reputation, but as economical as possible.

Ideally we would like to include a "Hollywood tour" type of experience on the first leg of the trip, but would also consider it before going back to LAX.

If there's an option I've overlooked, please share it!

When I googled it looked like over $1200 for round trip that many people. You might also think about comfort (it is not a short drive) and the ability to go to a store, etc. The freeways outside of downtown LA are not bad. Best of luck to you but I would rent a large van and drive.

thanks for the feedback ... we knew going it it would be a fairly expensive adventure ... I've emailed a few shuttle and limo companies tonight asking for quotes ... Hoping that maybe we can get some sort of break by booking multiple legs with same company ... We'll see how it goes.

Please post and let us know what you choose. We are looking at the same sort of itinerary in August for our family of 4.

We've actually ended up changing our plans and eliminating Legoland altogether. We've been to the one in Florida and the appeal was really the Legoland Hotel ... But when we added the room costs with the transportation costs, we just couldn't justify it. Best prices I could get from LAX to Carlsbad and Carlsbad to LAX were over $300 each leg. Supershuttle was slightly cheaper for LAX to Carlsbad, but they don't rent booster seats and we aren't bringing our three on the plane. The company That we likely would have gone with was MIB (Men in Black) Transportation out of San Diego ... Best rates and everything included up front ( including gratuities etc.) and they would provide booster seats. They don't do the DL LAX run though, not their area understandably. They were prompt with email inquiries and were well rated on yelp.

Being only 4 you should find much cheaper options as you can go in an SUV type vehicle.
