Tuesday 2 March 2010 - Day Thirteen
Amazingly, Eric slept in his own cot until 7.30 am this morning, perhaps Disney had finally managed to wear him out! Andy and Eric got up and let me have a sleep in until 9 am as we were having a shopping day. It was weird getting up and not texting Kari to find out what we were doing that day, but I did text her to wish her a good flight.
We got dressed and breakfasted and set off for the Premium Oulets at 10.20 am. I bought a new pair of Skechers trainers as I usually do in America, and Andy and Eric ran in and out of the shop whilst I was deciding which ones to get. We had a look round another couple of shops and then went to the food court for lunch. We got Eric a portion of fried rice and me and Andy shared quesadilla from Taco Bell and a Mountain Dew and a pepperoni stromboli from Villa Pizza. For the uninitiated (as I was until then!) a stromboli looks kinda like a sausage roll, and ours had cheese, tomato and pepperoni inside, and the pastry had a slighty sweet top.
After lunch we did the Disney Character Warehouse and bought Eric two vests - a grey Mickey Mouse one and a blue Donald Duck one with the slogan "Chicks dig me". One of the CMs gave Eric some Mickey stickers and we got chatting with another one as Eric sat on the floor reading a Disney book and making cute noises! All that reading had obviously tired him out as he fell asleep in the stroller afterwards.
We went and looked round all the Hello Kitty things in Fuzzywigs but just bought some Mountain Dew and Mallo Cups. The DKNY shop was next where Andy bought jeans, a t-shirt and a shirt. When we were done in there, we went back to the car and hopped over to Downtown Disney.
First order of business was a sundae in Ghiradellis. We all shared a chocolate brownie sundae which was delicious. We picked up our Christmas ornament which was now beautifully personalised and then headed for the World of Disney. We bought some locking pin backs as my pins were driving me mad falling off, a set of Little Einsteins ("Steins") books for E, a Tigger t-shirt for E which he would not be parted from and a wine stopper for Andy's parents. As we had spent over $25 we could buy an overnight bag for $15 which we chose to do as we knew we were going to struggle for luggage space on the way home.
We then went back to the Christmas shop to buy me some Jack Skellington pyjamas. I had seen them in there but was hoping to get them in World of Disney and take advantage of our annual passholders 10% discount - no such luck. They are still amazing PJs though.
Andy asked where I'd like to go for tea, saying that the World was my oyster! I picked the Polynesian food court, Captain Cooks, as I love the food and I just love being at the Poly. We shared a Hawaiian flat bread and a chicken noodle bowl. I had a hot chocolate, Andy had a coffee and E had apple juice. Eric ate some of the crispy noodles and veggies. We had a look in the Poly shops after tea and then did a circuit on the monorail. It was beautiful seeing the castle lit up in the dark.
We left the Poly about 7.45 pm and stopped at Walgreens on the way home for margaritas! Eric was asleep so we brought him into the villa and got him ready and into bed. We did some packing as we were off to Disney for two nights the next day and then had our baths. Andy had Bud Lite before bed, I had a margarita and we had some buffalo ranch crisps.
