Day 6 MGM and Downtown Disney
As wed had quite a late night the night before we arranged to meet everyone in the lobby at 10am. As always through we woke up much earlier and went down to have some breakfast at Picabus. We both had a breakfast muffin which was huge! But yummy, along with an Orange Juice.
We went back up to the room to pick up our things for the day and headed back down to the lobby where the others were waiting. We walked outside and waited for the boat across to MGM. The boat is one of the things I love about the Dolphin! The boat turned up after about 10 minutes and we were on our way to MGM. We got there for around 10:30 and the first thing we did was rush over and do Tower of Terror. Gary wont do this ride so he sat with my mum whilst I went on with my dad, there was no queue so we got straight on almost. Normally we would go straight on to the Aerosmith Rock N Roller coaster but unfortunately that was in rehab! So we chose to wander through some of the shops and head over to watch the Lights Motors Action stunt show. We got there just as they were letting everybody in and we got a great seat, quite high up in the middle! Thankfully right under a fan as it was another scorching hot day! The first time I saw this show was in Paris on Christmas Day it was freezing cold, and snowing on and off, vast difference! Needless to say I enjoyed it more in the warm Florida weather!
After that we did the Backlot tour, Star Tours and Muppet Vision 3D. It was about 2pm at this point so we decided to go and get some lunch at the ABC commissary I had a Cuban sandwich which was lovely I get fed up with burgers and hot dogs so I like this place as it has a great choice of healthier foods. After lunch we did Indiana Jones and Sounds Dangerous. It was almost time for the parade then so we walked through all the shops down to where the parade ends and sat on the curb waiting for the parade.
As far as parades go this one isnt my favorite but as it was ending I thought we should see it one last time. Stood behind us was this ever so camp American in a bright pink and yellow shirt! all through the parade he kept shouting at all the characters, Mickey we love you, and Minnie you look fabulous type of thing. Now I didnt mind Mickey and Minnie so much, but I was every character, right down to the playhouse Disney characters he knew them all! It was quite funny!
After the parade had finished we got the boat back to the hotel and went to sit and relax with a drink around the pool and have a quick swim to cool off! We chose to go down to Downtown Disney tonight as Raglan Road were having a half way to St Patricks day celebration! We ate at the hole in the wall and sat in the patio area, the men went off to order the drinks first, my nan had asked for a half a larger and my grandad brought back a pint! It was hilarious! Me and Gary both had a pie and Chips, I had a chicken pie which was really nice but far too much pastry for my liking! Several drinks later we got a bit bored with Raglan Road, my grandparents headed off to the Planet Hollywood shop and then back to the hotel. Me, DH and my parents decided to go check out some water skiing that was taking place down near the west side. We chose to walk through pleasure island, and as we were walking through some man was shouting about the Adventurers club, and saying come check it out. So we decided to have a look. What a strange place! For the first 30 minutes I didnt know what was going on! We went to the bar to get a drink, and the barman convinced me and mum to try an adventure-tini! I have no idea what was in it but it came in a plastic martini glass with a flashing light in the stem! It was so strong! Wouldnt need any more of those! We had missed the first show so some strange guy in a white suit asked us to wait in the treasure room! So we went in and took a seat, a few more people joined us. After a few minutes a woman came in dressed as a French maid and started chatting to all of us, we then realized it was a comedy club type of place. After a while more and more people came in and then the show started which was so so funny!
After the one show and the one adventure-tini we decided to head back to the hotel room by this point my mum was rather tipsy which was amusing as she was giggling non stop at everything!! Once we got back to the hotel we decided to call it a night and headed off to bed!
