Day 11 – 3 Night Disney Wonder Cruise!
We got up at 9am this morning, got dressed and ready to head over to Port Canaveral. We went down for breakfast at Picabu’s – I purposely didn’t eat much this time as I knew id be eating loads on the Cruise! After breakfast we went back up to the room and finished the remaining packing, we then headed down to the lobby to check out and pay the room bill.

We grabbed a seat and waited for the others to come down and check out. Id told my grandparents that I had booked a van transfer to the Port but id actually booked a limo as a surprise! At 11:30 we headed out to of the hotel and our limo was there waiting. My grandparents were so surprised! And really excited to be getting a limo to the port! That was my first surprise, so a few photos later and we were on our way to Port Canaveral.

When we arrived at Port Canaveral and we saw the ship for the first time everyone was really excited! We went through the passport check and then through the xrays and then we were at the check in area. I thought we were going to have to check in separately as me and DH were castaway club members, but they said we could all check in together which was nice as I didn’t want my second surprise being blown! When I told my Grandparents what price id gotten for the room they had assumed that was for an inside cabin – and I didn’t correct them at the time! Id actually booked a Cat 6 room with the verandah. We were soon checked in and off through the mickey tunnel to have our photos taken! I purposely made my Grandparents go first and then my parents with us at the back so they were surprised by the “Welcome on board McMinn family” – I know its cheesy but you gotta love it!

First point of call id decided was to get some drinks and get everyone in the cruise mood! So the men all got those large cruiseline beer mugs, and 3 Bahama mamas for me, my mum and Nan! Drinks in hand we headed off to the Beach Blanket buffet for lunch! I don’t think anyone expected the food to be so good and such a good choice! We all ate far to much. After we had eaten we decided to head off to the rooms to drop of somethings before taking a look around! My parents were in the room next to us and My grandparents were 2 rooms down so we all went into our rooms. I was busy checking out our free castaway club gift and gary was busy checking out the TV!!

I decided to pop round and see how everyones rooms were, Mum and Dad knew they had a verandah room but they were still thrilled with their room! I think they were still expecting it to be really tiny! I then went to my Nans room to see them, they were so excited with their room and were convinced that id paid more money for it and not told them – I had to show her the paper work as she was trying to give me several hundred dollars! Anyway everyone sorted we headed off for a quick tour of the boat. I showed them where all the restaurants were and the adults only pool area, we sat and had a drink on one of the top decks looking out over towards Cape Canaveral. My Nan then got really excited when she heard the ships horn for the first time too!

It was soon time for the lifeboat drill so we headed back to the room and picked up our life jackets and headed to our meeting point. It was far too hot to be stood in the sun in a life jacket but still some people turned up really late. I think it took about 20 minutes in all before we could head back to the room. We put the life jackets away, our suitcases had also arrived at this point so we put them in the room too. We then headed off to the sail away party. We watched the party from the deck above and then headed over to watch us actually sail away for 10 minutes! It was soooo windy! It was quite choppy!

We had the early dinner seating this time and had to be seated at 5:45 so we hurried back to get ready for dinner. We said to the others we would meet them outside the restaurant – tonight’s restaurant was Animators Palate! I was looking forward to this restaurant as we didn’t eat there last time – as we chose to eat at Palo’s. Our head waiter was Brunel and our assistant waited was Wowie. They were both really good, friendly and relaxed and we had a good laugh with them! The food was excellent! As always far too much though!

After dinner we were all pretty tired so we headed to the adults only area for a swim and a sit in the spa for a while. We had a couple of drinks around the bar and headed back to the rooms. We arranged to meet outside the Beach Blanket buffet for breakfast the next morning and said Good night. Me and DH sat out on our Verandah for a while with a drink, watching the waves before calling it a night.

:thumbsup2 A great few days, can't wait to hear more about the cruise!

Excellent report so far!

I have been thinking of a cruise in our during our Disney trip in 2009 (2008 is already booked without a cruise)

So where did you book the cruise and can you tell me how much it costs please??

Thanks

We had Wowie on our cruise. The cruises are amazing and it isn't surprising they have so many repeat visitors.

I would like to do on the disney med cruise if it comes back again
