Laur’s and Andy’s Halloween Happiness Trip Day 3

Laur’s – 28
Andy – 29

Friday 21 September 2007

Shopping day today, woo-hoo! We were up at 8.15 am, had a coffee and some apple juice in the room, got ourselves ready and then headed out to IHOP for breakfast at 9.45 am.

We shared a pitcher of orange juice, and Andy had eggs benedict with canadian ham, english muffin and hollandaise sauce, and I had a breakfast combo comprising 2 soft fried eggs, 2 strips of bacon, hash browns and toast. We joked about how in England you would never get asked how you’d like your eggs cooked – you just count yourself lucky if you get any at all! The waitress pointed out that there was a free gift from the shop opposite with the till receipt so we went to claim it and ended up with a free lighter (you could also have had a pencil).

After breakfasting, we went to the Florida Mall around 10.50 am. We started off in the Disney store where I got a Jessie plush for $4 (!) and Andy got a Jack Skellington t-shirt to wear for one of the Halloween parties. I am thrilled with my Jessie as I have wanted one for ages.

Next stop was Hot Topic where I got some black eyeshadow in a cute little pot, and glow in the dark nail polish. Claire’s next and I got some Jack and Sally earrings, which I have barely stopped wearing since. We went in both Victorias Secret shops whilst I tried to choose what things I neeeeded, and I ended up with some shower gel and hand cream, and Andy bought me a mini bottle of perfume for my Christmas stocking.

The next mall on the agenda was the Premium Outlets and we got there around 3 pm. We were feeling a little peckish so we got a slice of sausage pizza and a lemon-lime soda to share from Villa Pizza in the food court.

Went to French Connection where Andy got a zip up top, and then to the Cosmetics company where after much deliberating I got a bag of Clinique make up and some Clinique leave in conditioner spray stuff.

We stopped at Fuzziwigs for an ice cream – I had a superman which I think is basically vanilla but with food colouring so it is blue, red and yellow, and Andy had a rainbow fizz which tasted like refreshers.

In the Disney store here I got some of my Secret Santa stuff and a very cute Wildcats vest which has already had a lot of wear and I’m sure will show up in a trip report photo in the not too distant future.

Last stop here was Skechers as Andy needed some new shoes. He found some he liked pretty quickly and I daresay much cheaper than at home.
One last mall to go, and we set off to the Festival Bay at 5.40 pm. We wanted to go back to Steve and Barry’s as I hadn’t really felt like looking round the other night. I got a grey vest top and Andy got a smart grey jumper – this shop is so cheap!

I nearly forgot to mention the funniest thing we saw today – a man walking down I-Drive from Wet and Wild in just a towel! I wanted to yell out of the window to ask if he would go to Tescos like that at home!

We called in at KFC for some food on the way back at 7.30 pm. I had a mash bowl and Andy had a twister wrap. We went back to the room for showers and packed up our stuff ready for transferring to the Hard Rock Hotel the following morning.

We decided to go down to the outdoor bar and I had a couple of pina coladas and Andy had beer and a gin and tonic. He sat down with his beer at 10 pm, and said “well, I survived!” Three malls in one day, yep, I think he did pretty well. Staggered back to the room to bed at 12.15 am.

No pictures today, so here is another picture of me stroking a penguin!
