Our wake call was at 8.10 am this morning and as we had a busy last full day planned, we were up at 8.30 am. Andy got us an adult breakfast platter from the food court; bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, wedges and a biscuit and we also had a banana, orange juice and hot chocolate. We got ourselves ready and stopped at the food court on the way out to get a soda.
The plan was to head off to Animal Kingdom first as is traditional on our last day, but the bus queue was so long that even when a bus arrived it wouldn't accommodate all the people in it. That being the case, we decided to switch our day around and go to Epcot. We went on the Nemo ride and watched the manatees for a while first, and then headed to Journey to Imagination which was deserted and we therefore got the whole carriage to ourselves! We sent some silly photo postcards when we came off the ride then had a look round Mousegear where I bought a pirate hair scrunchie. Our last stop before lunch was Club Cool to sample the nicer drinks - mostly Mezzo Mix for me.
We went to Electric Umbrella for lunch and were disappointed to note that they no longer offered the nice sandwiches with coleslaw. We picked a double bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Sprite instead, but it wasn't very nice, so I'm not sure we will be back here again. We had a look round Innoventions after lunch and then located our Leave a Legacy tile before leaving the park for Animal Kingdom.
We rode Dinosaur one last time and when Andy had managed to drag me away we went to watch the komodo dragon and the tapir for a while. We stopped to watch the performing artists - the painter/acrobats - who were very good and funny. We stopped in one of the bigger shops so that I could get a safari Tigger for my mum for her birthday, and I bought a really neat Tink stationery set with scissors, pencils, eraser, ruler, sharpener, notepad, stapler and staples, which I use every day at work to bring some magic into the proceedings.
We left AK and went back to the Pop for showers, and were out to the Magic Kingdom again by 5.20 pm. We went to see whether there was any space at the Plaza restaurant but it was all booked up and we didn't really fancy any other table service places, so we went to Cosmic Rays for tea. I like the cheesy alien, anyway. I had chicken nuggets and fries and Andy had a chili cheese dog and fries, using up our last two table service credits. We both had a fanta, and Andy had a chocolate chip cookie, and I got a brownie which I saved for later. (Surprisingly good since it had no sugar in it!)
After tea we rode Winnie the Pooh and got a fastpass for later, and rode Haunted Mansion. We watched the Spectromagic parade and then went back to the Pooh ride which we got to go on on our own which was special for our last ride. We also went on the TTA where we were again the only ones in the carriage and saw the first few Wishes fireworks from a very special vantage point up there. When we got off we ran to the Tomorrowland bridge to watch the rest of Wishes with the hundreds of others who were gathered there.
We took a very slow walk out of the park stopping to look at the castle for a while and through the Emporium on Main Street. When we could finally bear to leave, we got on the bus back to the Pop for the last time this holiday, arriving back at 10.30 pm. We stopped at the bar to pick up a beer for Andy and a Hula Hoop for me and headed back to the room. Bed at midnight.
