Is the laundry open 24 hours? Can you do laundry on the 1st day on the ship? I'm gonna have some laundry by the time we board the ship.

Thanks,
Wendy

Yes, they are open 24 hours and available from the time you step on the ship.

I do believe it's open 24/7!

Put your laundry in (try deck 7 between the midship & aft elevators) after lunch, get your stuff in the dryers before the lifeboat drill and you'll have everything neat, clean, folded, and put away before the sail-away party! :)

*Note* $1.00 gets you 20 or 30 minutes of drying time... $2.00 only buys you 10-15 minutes more time. Put in the minimum amount, check it, then run another cycle if needed.

Yes, the laundry is open 24 hours. I did laundry every day with no problems. Brought my own roll of quarters which really helped and small pre-measured packets of detergent as well as fabric softener sheets for the dryer. It was nice that the washer and dryer have digital readouts on the front to tell you how long they will run for. No guessing when to come back. The dryer did dry a full load in one time period, even jeans and sweatshirts. I think it was because the washer spins so well.

Can You imagine having the room across from the Laundry. These must have been the worst rooms for noise and heat on the ship.

I was stuck watching the laudry one day and lint and heat and the crowds during peak periods would drive me nuts.

Add in the 24hr traffic. I like deck 5 aft.

We were lucky enough to stay directly across from the laundry on deck 6, in room 6588. Did not plan this, but was able to upgrade from cat 10 to a cat 6 at the last minute at the port.

And yes, our room did get warm at times. We often stuffed towels under the door crack to minimize the heat.

And yes, there were times when people weren't thinking and would stand in the hallway talking and laughing loudly....how dare they have fun on a Disney cruise  , but it would have been nice it they were more thoughtful. We even had someone knock and ask if we knew whom to call about the change machine...what, did I look like a maintenance worker???

But the best moment was when a Mom brought her darling little toddler with her. The darling little toddler brought her precious plastic shovel along and proceeded to bang on our door. The first two times I answered the door, thinking someone was knocking. The third time I wanted to ask the Mom which room they were in...my plan was to knock on there door repeatidly.;)

It wasn't all bad, though, I was able to keep tabs on my wash and use the iron in slow times.

At least she didn't ask if she could bring the toddler in to use your bathroom while they waited on their laundry....
