I'm wondering where the laundry room at POP is, and if anybody has used it before? If so, got any tips?

Thanks,
Kim

Q: Will there be laundry facilities?
Yes. At each pool area, there will be a laundry room with washers and dryers.

We used the laundry room near the Hippy Dippy Pool (in the same building as the Pool Bar) and it was easy to use. It was in continuous use, but people were good at moving their items out of the washers when they were done so others could have a chance. I don't think we had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for a washer. Cost was $2 in quarters for the washer and $2 in quarters for the dryer. The appliances are compact but we fit a decent amount of clothing in each one. We did not have any problems at all. And they do sell detergent and softener from a vending machine, but I had brought my own so I'm not sure of the price. We used the laundry room twice for a total of maybe 6 loads, and we will be using it again when we go next month:cool:

There are laundry rooms by each of the 3 pools at POP. You need your room card to get in.:hyper2:

We did a load of laundry last week while we were there. It's $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. Go in the late morning or very early afternoon as it was PACKED in the evernings.

They are not that good, which surprised me since they are fairly new. After the first $2.00, most clothes (t-shirts) were still slightly damp. Now IF this was a full load of laundry, I could understand. But this was a little more than 1/2 load and NO heavy clothing (such as denim). Also, I wasn't the only one. Two other women said the same thing.

Just an FYI!!! :(

Yes remember your room key! I did my laundry late one evening while we swam and I sent the kids back to the room, with the room key of course, and then couldn't get in the laundry room to get my clothes. LOL Thankfully there was a lady sitting outsid waiting for her clothes to get finished so she let me in but I would have hated to walk all the wat back to the room first.

If you might be doing laundry a couple of times while there, you might want to consider bringing your own laundry detergent. I have found that the snack size zip lock bags work great for packing it. One bag per load. Pack your dryer sheets too. They charge $1 for one load detergent and $1 for 2 dryer sheets. Plus the dryer sheets is the luggage will keep everything smelling fresh.

I saw people carrying their laundry in bags. I would wheel one of our suitcases with the dirty laundry in it. When it was dry just fold and pack. I have started doing this the second to our last night there while DD is enjoying the pool. That way we don't come home with a ton of laundry to do. Love it.

i'm also a vacation laundry-doer! and did quite a few loads of laundry at pop (in the 50s section near the bowling pin pool)... location is great... machines worked well... also had the dryer problem/had to run clothes thru twice to get them totally dry but it was a large load, used one of the mega sized front loading machines... same price as regular size washer, but holds 2x as much... but you end up paying "extra" for the drying, so it did not really save much 'cept it was the only machine available when i was there... brought my own laundry detergent tabs (which are now very hard to find) and some kind person was handing out dryer sheets (she did not want to carry the box back home!)...

i find doing laundry on vacation serves multiple purposes... it enables us to pack less... it's nice to go home w/clean clothes... it offers the opportunity to visit w/other like-minded people (usually women) to share experiences, ideas, plans, etc... kinda like the dis boards! (oh, and it gives mom a break while dad puts the kids to bed! teehee)
