hello all. Was wondering what kind of laundery soap the washing machines use

They’re standard washing machines. They sell powered Tide but you’d be better off tossing a few pods into your suitcase.

I bring pods. My sister brings laundry detergent sheets. Hers are probably kinder to the world - no microplastics.

A single load box of Tide is $2 or $3 onboard. Boxes are vended in the laundry room. Charge goes on your stateroom account via KTTW (or Magic Band?)

Good point. I pack mine in a checked bag. But there are guests who pack light enough for just a carry-on. Another + in the sheet column.

On our last cruise, we didn't want to take liquid pods in our suitcase, so we purchased a box of laundry detergent sheets.. They sell them at Wal-Mart. They were easy to pack and didn't take up and extra space in our luggage...

I've traveled countless times, domestically and internationally, and have never made up a 3-1-1 bag. Ever.

I bring Tide Pods in a hard container and Meyers (I think) dryer sheets. I use wool balls at home instead of dryer sheets, but I didn't want to pack those.
