We leave Saturday and I'm packing as you speak. With the hot Florida weather we usually end up wearing two sets of clothes each day. I don't want to drag down my entire closet. How are the laundry facilities at the Wilderness Lodge.

First of all, you make me jealous. Have fun down there. :)

The laundry facilities aren't bad. Nothing special about them, either. We haven't been there in a couple of years, but from my memory they could have used more machines and a bigger room, though they seemed to keep the machines operating well.

Do be prepared to spend several dollars to do even one load of laundry. I think it's $2 to wash, at least $2 to dry (and these dryers aren't exactly the hottest things, sometimes it takes 2 drying cycles; keep your loads reasonable), and the detergent boxes (good for one load) cost $1 apiece. Same for bounce sheets. These are the prices as of 2 years ago, remember, although they are the same as what we had at Grand Californian last summer.

If you are driving, and have some room, you might consider bringing your own detergent, bounce sheets, etc. That could save you a lot of $$ if you have several loads to do.

We just used the room this Aug. There are only about six washers; there are a lot more dryers. They are 2.00 each. We did two loads. We used two dryers and our cloths were dry in the 2.00 amount of time.

The laundry is right down from Roaring Forks. Also, they machines do not count down the time for you; make sure you note when you put the stuff in if you are not going to wait.

We actually hung out at Roaring Forks instead.

Actually, it is very close to the feature pool as well. You can hang out at the pool, if you like, while waiting on a load.

I forgot about the lack of timers on those machines. Very frustrating.

Hey there! Just back yesterday and I'm not only a WL vet, I'm a WL LaundryRoom vet.:)

Yes, even tho DS packed 22 pair of underwear, I still did laundry. Definitely toss some laundry powder or cubes or whatever in your luggage, along with a roll of quarters ( I forgot them this trip) There are about 6 washers and 8 or 10 dryers. The dryers were less reliable than the ones I had found earlier in the week at YC - no, not timed, and needed $4 to dry each load (blame DS again with the cargo short pockets ;) )

While I waited, I carried breakfast up to my darlings from Raoring Forks, ate, and chatted with some fellow guests. There's not any folding area beyond the one table, but we worked it out...

Rather do wash at WDW than at home. Then again, rather have a villa w/ W/D!!!!

I also did laundry at WL... Yes, about 6 washers and 10 dryers. $2 a load on each. Dryers dried fine for me with one cycle. Vending supplies $1. One table for folding. One TV. The coin changer did NOT work. I went to the arcade thinking that would be one there, but it is just video game tokens. Had to ask 2 different front desk people for change, a nice lobby concierge clerk helped me. They did not seem to think it important to report it to the powers that be that the change machine was broken, until I sweetly suggested that all the moms on vacation were not enjoying their expensive disney vacation running around the WL looking for change while everybody else was having a good time at the pool or the parks! A grumpy mom will not be so quick to rebook next year if unhappy with resort services!
Have a great vacation, and happy washing! At least you'll be washing on vacation!
