I really want to go over to St. John on my own.. I was just wondering what is the estimated travel time there and back?

What would be the absolute latest you would reccommend leaving to still make it back to the ship in time? It's a 4:30 all aboard, right?

Don't want Mickey to sail away without me!

When we went to St. John, it took about 45 minutes to get there, so I would say to be on the safe side try to leave by about 3pm to give yourself enough time to get back before the ship leaves.....Andy

Thanks...

Not that St. John would be a bad place to get deserted at...

but I would miss my Mickey Ship way too much!

If I remember correctly the Red Hook ferry leaves every hour on the hour and takes 30-40 minutes. The concern was the traffic getting from Red Hook back to the ship. I think I remember it taking much longer to get back than it took to get there in the morning. If you have a taxi waiting to pick you up on your return trip and the weather is beautiful I would think the 3pm ferry would be fine. If you need to find a taxi or the weather is really windy then I would probably error on the side of caution and take the 2pm ferry. I do not remember tendering into St. Thomas but if you do then it would also count into your travel time...unless the last tender is 4:30.

I know this sounds confusing but it really is not that big of a deal. We took the 9am ferry in the morning and the 2pm ferry in the pm and it was a great day!!! (2 years ago :( )

Have a great time!!!

that sounds like a great plan.. 9am out, 2pm back.. plenty of time to spare, so I don't have to worry about missing the ship.
