Latest Suggestions for Traveling Between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge

Besides doing two trips in our 5 seater SUV to take 7 of us from FW to WL for dining reservations, is it faster to take a boat to MK and then change to one to WL or the busses as per the MDE suggestion? Which would you do?

Bus! It is fast and efficient. Don't drive because you will have to park in the FW parking lot and wait for a bus to take you back to the Settlement area. Oh, wait, I think you are staying at FW. In that case, still the bus, it runs between the WL and FW. There used to be a boat, but it is still not running yet. Hopefully soon!

Crazy Disney directions from the Fort say to take a bus to MK, transfer to a WL bus there, a 56 minute trip. I thought there was a bus directly from the Fort to WL but wonder if we catch it up at the Outpost or down by the Tri-Circle.

used to be the yellow bus that ran between the 2. catch either place if right color but down by Tri-Circle if you need to change buses

You can confirm this on the Camping at Disney World forum, but my understanding is that the WL-FW bus picks up and drops off at the Settlement, where the boat to MK docks. So it would be faster to travel from your campsite or cabin in FW to the Settlement, then hop the bus direct to WL.

That is crazy! We took the bus from WL to FW but we did not use it to return, we went by boat to the MK from FW. But if it drops off at FW from WL, it has to go back, right?!?!

Yes, it goes back - just runs the loop!

it will run its loop thru the campground and then back. not just back and forth between FW and WL
