Has anyone ever a requested a 'later check-out time than the standard 11:00? Wondered if they accomodate you if they can due to later flight times that day. I'm wondering if they let you stay maybe up to 2 or 3:00.

If staying DVC....there are no late check-outs in the villas.

In regular resort rooms, I recall reading (although it's been awhile) some posts where people had gotten a late check-out of 1pm. They stated that you need to request in advance.

Keep in mind that CHECK-IN is 3pm. Anytime a room is occupied after the regular check-out time, it really shortens the time it can be cleaned & ready for the next guest.

We usually fly out late, and I always request late check out. I have been granted it every time. It's always at 1:00 pm. I have been told that anything after 1 pm is considered an extra day, and you have to pay for it.
You should ask at check in, and they should be able to note it on your reservation.

We got a late check-out at the GF because a member of our group was ill that specific day.

We always have a late flight out and instead of requesting a late check out we pack up and check out bags/drop off with bell services and head to the park for a few last minute rides.

We did late check out once and requested it the night before at the front desk at the WL. Some people have reported having to request it through housekeeping, but the front desk ok'd it for us with no need to go through housekeeping. If it's available and the room is not needed right away, it is free until 1:00 p.m., half a night's room rate is charged until 3:00 p.m., and a full night's room rate is charged after 3:00 p.m. As a pp mentioned, if you can't get late check out, you can always leave your luggage with bell services and go to a park or DTD to pass the time until it's time to leave for your flight.

Trying to decide on requesting late check out. Our flight out isn't until 8:00PM. After reading the posts, I am even more undecided. I wouldn't want to delay someone's check in. I think we will just pack our stuff, check out & head to Downtown Disney to shop. We don't really need tons of time there. Once shopping is done we can head back to the resort & hop on the Magical Express. After checking out, we can still utilize the busses, right?

We actually did get a late check out at BLT one time because when we checked in we were told that check out was noon. We had called the front desk for some reason that morning and were told that check out was at 11, not noon. But, because a CM had told us it was 12, they let us stay in the room until 12 without paying any more. I'm guessing this is NOT a normal thing, though.

Yes, twice. Both times at POR garden rooms. Once the first weekend of May and the other time was in Mid-June. And I was turned down both times.

So now I don't bother and just plan on leaving the room by 11am.

WDW LATE CHECKOUT:

1) DVC rooms do not allow late check-outs.
2) Other resort late checkouts are permitted by Housekeeping, not the Front Desk.
3) It depends upon
. . . number of check-ins and check-outs that day
. . . occupancy of the resort the night before
. . . how nice you talk to Housekeeping
. . . staffing and/or absenteeism of maids
. . . phase of the moon
4) If allowed,
. . . check-out 11:00am-1:00pm, no charge
. . . check-out 1:00pm-3:00pm, up to 50% of the room rate
. . . check-out 3:00pm or later, up to 100% of room rate
5) Housekeeping decides if you will be charged or not be charged a fee.
6) This is done by the Housekeeping Manager after the room is cleaned.
7) You will know if there is a charge when you see the credit card statement.
8) You can store your luggage with Bell Services.
9) When ready to leave, use the pool restroom or spa to shower & change.

If you check out you still have bus priveledges that day, and you can enjoy DTD or parks if you have days left on your entry. We have left bags with Bell Services and gone over to DTD on buses without any trouble on our last day. Have a great trip!

Whether or not they allow late check-out solely depends on occupancy. If they are sold out your last night there and the night of the day you are leaving, they may not grant you late check out since they will need to turn rooms over quickly. Or, they may allow you to have a late check-out but implement a fee for it. If you travel during a slow time of year, it may not be a problem.

Thank You!! I think we are going to do DTD or just hang out by the pool for the afternoon. Since we will have use if buses, we really could do anything. Just have to make sure we get back in time to get on the Magical Express.

As others have alluded, you still have your Disney World privileges until midnight of the day your checkout. So, you can check out of your room by 11 but still use the buses, the pools. go to a park, do whatever and then just leave the resort. If you need the actual room, then ask for late check out but if you can sit by the pool or do something else, leave your bags with Bell Services and go have fun on that last day.

Hi, I'm staying at a fort wilderness cabin in september sunday thru friday and we are driving, so we will have our own car. My inlaws are coming with us and we are renting two scooters for them for our stay they are supposed to be delivered and picked up at the campgrounds. So my question is on the last day after we check out we plan on going to seaworld for the day, before starting the drive home, will i be able to drop off the scooters at FW that night (the evening of the day I checked out) and go?

Yes, you can absolutely still use the buses. We're doing the same thing in Dec when our flight doesn't leave until 7:30 :)

I do late check-out often during Value season and they bump me up from 11:00am to 1:00pm. But I do that just in case I forget to book a bounceback prior to hitting early EMH on the day of check-out. :) Your resort priviliges extend through 11:59pm on the date of checkout so you can do EMH that night until midnight, as well as use all WDW transportation through this time.

You will be allowed to return to FW to drop off the scooters. However, I suggest checking with the rental company what time they require the ECV to be at bell services for pick-up. You may need to rent for an extra day if you plan to return it in the evening (may depend how late in the evening), but check with the rental company.
