Late seating at Cape May Buffet?

Hi,

I've just made an 8:30pm ressie for the Cape May Buffet -- for those who've done a late seating here: do they do a good job replenishing the buffet items, or do things start to get picked over at the end of the night?

I haven't done any late buffets at Disney, but I had a bad experience at a very pricey Thanksgiving buffet one year -- we were in the last seating and they quickly ran out of our favorites. We still refer to it as "the Thanksgiving without pie" -- we don't want a repeat of this!

I enjoyed the Cape May Cafe. Believe my ressie was for 7:30. I am from New England so the only thing for me was that the "steamers" were just the little necks. Very tiny, but good nonetheless. As a New Englander, I was expecting the steamers I am accustomed to in New England. But overrall the experience was good and I will probably go back again.

Thanks! We've been to Cape May quite a few times, it is one of our favorites! And we're staying at the BC this time, so we figured this was a must-do. I've always done buffets around 7:30ish too, so I was just wondering if I should be worried about finding the selections picked over at the end of the night. I guess we'll just hope for the best!

We have eaten there many times but the latest ressie was for 7:30pm and we were seated about 8pm (they were running behind), they are pretty good about replenishing the popular items but there were several items that by 8:30 they were not replenishing and we had to ask for boiled shrimp on the salad bar, kids chicken nuggets, and the pizza. The shrimp never came out and they brought us 6 nuggets to our table. A fresh pizza did appear about 10 min. after we asked. They have a good selection and if its not there I wouldn't hesitate to ask.

1) As you get closer to closing, cooked items get slimmer pickin's.
2) By law, they cannot keep cooked items overnight.
3) Thus, they are tossed.
4) So, it is better to start limiting them than wasting them.

Thanks everyone! Maybe we'll do a good lap before we sit down and if we see something that we want is running low, we'll make sure to ask if it can be replenished. The restaurant closes at 9:30 the night we're there and they are seating people as late as 9:15, so I'm feeling like we might be OK.
