Late Registering for Magical Express

Im planning a spur of the moment trip to WDW for the end of this month. How early do I have to make reservations for Magical Express to utilize the service or am I out of luck on transportation?

Any help would be appreciated.

i've done it literally the day before. in fact, when i got to the DME desk, I wasn't even listed in their system. they had to call some central office to input me in while I was there, no big deal.

for my luggage, obviously i didn't have the yellow tags, so I just picked my luggage type off of a chart, supplied my baggage claim #s and by the time i got back to my room after being in the parks, my luggage was there. no issue, despite the fact that i was on a different flight than they were aware of and I forgot to mention it (I had missed my original flight).

They (DME) like you to give them 3 days notice..that way you will be their system for sure. I've booked 3 days before travel and obviously not gotten my info packet. But, I had only carryon bags that one time, so it was no problem. If I had had checked bags, I would have just gone to baggage claim, gotten them myself and taken them to DME to be put underneath the bus I hopped on.

I booked 9 days in advance and they sent my luggage tags by express mail.
