Late May: whjat do you think?

Anyone been during the end of May? I'd probably say the week that includes Memorial Day, just to be sure we are out of school.

Thinking ahead to May 2008 and thought I'd ask here!

Memorial Day week starts the summer rush. It's not too bad yet, but it's the beginning of a very busy time at WDW.

Relatively speaking.... Crowds will be lighter at the end of May than they will the second week of June, for example. Crowds will be heavier end of May than they will the very beginning of May.

I believe it is a classic bell curve with attendance starting to pick up about the second or third week of May, peaking out around July 4, and then getting progressively lighter through mid-August.

In 2004, we were there from like May 14 through May 19 and had moderate crowds with few waits longer than 15 minutes.

We usually go around the 24th, which is my daughter's birthday. The crowds are not usually bad but definitely more crowded than September or October.

We just did our 1st family trip in August, overlapping with the free meal thingy, so it was crowded EVERYWHERE and reservations for meals were hard to get. I know schools here in Illinois get out around Memorial Day, but back in Ohio they'd be in session for another week or two.

We were there last Memorial Day 06 for our first family trip and I was expecting it to be very crowded but it really wasn't.

We go every year during the Memorial Day weekend and for a few days afterward. It's fine. You might want to subscribe to TGM for least crowded days. That's what we do every trip and we have like 5-10 minute waits.

We went with three small children (ages 3, 5, 8) last year the last week of May. The weather was great. Not very hot at all. The crowds weren't bad either. Most of the rides were only about 15-20min wait max! I say go then!

I was just wondering about this as well. My son gets out of school May 24th and we may go then. Thanks for the info.

We love going in May and this may be our last year since DD won't get out of school next year until June. We went the second to last week in May 2004 and loved it. The Flower & Garden Festival is spectacular and the weather was great (although that is obviously hit or miss). When we went back in Fall 2005 we couldn't figure out what we were missing so much at first and then realized it was all the decorations at Epcot for the F&G festival. That, combined with great weather and low crowds makes May our favorite time of year for a Disney trip.

We went the last week of May and it was great. We were there over Memorial day and had a wonderful time. I didn't feel it was over crowded.
