Late for ADR

We have a reservation for SCI Fi dine at 5. We are staying at yacht club. My daughter and I are driving in the day before so there is no way we should be late. However my husband and other daughter are flying into MCO at 3:15 and taking DME. Think they will make it to dinner? If they don’t make it are we still charged even if my daughter and I make it? Normally I wouldn’t pick a time so close but this is my daughters must have meal and the only time I could get it. SWGE and free dining is making ADRs ridiculously hard.

There is no way your DH and other DD will make that reservation using DME. You will not be charged a no-show fee if only you and your DD show up for the reservation. If you want to try for something later, I would sign up for the Touring Plans reservation finder and try to snag one that way. I understand your dilemma. I had a very difficult time finding a Sci-Fi lunch reservation for our upcoming trip, but finally snagged one through Touring Plans.

check the night before/day of for a later time as people cancel to avoid no show fee if nothing show before your trip

I wouldn't book a meal less than three hours after their scheduled arrival time. Keep trying to change the time or have them Uber/Lyft from the airport.

There’s no bus from YC to DHS, they’ll need to hop the very slow boat or make the 15 minute walk from YC to DHS plus walk through the park to SciFi.
Depending on how long the flight is, it might arrive early. If they are near the front of the plane and thus deplane quickly, hoof it straight to DME and there are no lines there, hop on a DME bus and there’s no wait on the bus for it to fill, and the DME bus stops at YC first and they then walk straight to SciFi and aren’t slowed down at bag check or the tap styles getting into DHS, they’ll make it by 5 p.m.. The more of these things that don’t happen - such as the plane is late, they are in the back of the plane, there’s a wait at DME or on the bus, they need to drop carry on in the room, etc. the less likely they’ll make it.
If you can’t get a later ADR, presumably you’ll know via text where they are in transit & thus whether to ask SciFi if you can wait 15 minutes or so for the rest of your party to join you or if you should just have dinner without them. As long as 1 person shows on a reservation you won’t be charged the no show fee.
