Hope someone is able to give me some info about this. If Goofy's Kitchen closes at say 8:00pm and I get a reservation for 7:45pm, would we get rushed out of the restaurant? How long do the cooks keep food on the line after official closing time? Are the characters still out and about?

I ask because my family and I were at DL a few weeks ago and DS wanted to eat at Goofy's Kitchen very last minute. They closed at 8:00pm and the reservation available was for 7:45pm. I didn't do it because I didn't want to spend $140 for us to eat and fear we would be rushed out of the restaurant.

Just curious and would like to have this info for future reference.

Thanks in advance!

:sad2: We had the latest reservation time once and were sorely disappointed - such an inferior experience to going earlier. The food was just remnants, the character interaction rushed and perfunctory, the restaurant looked like a bomb had hit it and while they didn't rush us out, the staff started cleaning up for closing before we were done. All in all, we felt it was extremely poor value for the price and I would certainly not recommend it.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. :headache:Glad we didn't waste the money on that kind of experience.

Sorry you had such a crappy experience.:sad1:

Honestly, we've eaten at GK a number of times and since the change to set character selection, I haven't been impressed with the interaction. I think you can have good or bad experiences at any time. People recommend taking the last seating at Plaza Inn because it has great character interaction as shifts are ending and characters have less people to visit. I know we had an experience at Chef Mickey once where we had the last seating for breakfast and it was phenomenal. Donald came by several times and was clearly bored. So much fun. I really think it could go either way.

I do agree that the character interaction isn't quite the same since they did the change. We had some really great interactions in the past, like when DS was a baby and Pluto came to our table and fed DS his bottle. Peter Pan was always very engaged with the tables as well as Aladdin. DS still really enjoys it so that's why we still book it. I know I'll miss the day when he doesn't want to do character meals anymore.

I've flip flopped several times on Plaza Inn, booked it and then cancelled at the last minute, I just need to do it one of these days since it's the closest I'll get to the random character meets that they used to have at GK.

Thanks for offering your experiences!
