I believe you can no longer “request” late check out, correct?

How long will Bell services hold my bags after we check out?

What does everyone do throughout the day when they have a late night flight? Any tips would be helpful

I can't answer the late checkout question but I think Bell services will hold your bag all day.

You could wander around Disney Springs. Do some hotel touring (especially the monorail hotels if you are going when the Christmas decorations will be up). Make a reservation for a lunch you've always wanted to try but never fit into your plans.

Late checkout at Disney is rare and usually not very late at all. Bell services will hold your bags as long as you need. There’s a lot to do around the resorts and Disney Springs. A lot of good places to eat and/or shop.

There's also mini golf - we did that once and had a great time. It was during a time of year when the weather wasn't very warm or humid, so we didn't end up with sweaty clothes on the plane. Also, many people swim at their resorts - you're considered a guest there with access to all amenities until midnight of the day you check out. Many of the resorts have showers near the pools so that you can clean up after your swim. Just keep plastic bags handy to pack your swim stuff in a carryon, unless you want to open a suitcase in the resort lobby after you claim it from Bell Services.

Resort hop, especially if you're on the monorail or an EPCOT resort.
Bell Services will hold your luggage the entire day (even longer too)

Can I ask why no park? It's often not very expensive to add another day to your ticket if you haven't maxed it out already. We love having one last little bit of magic before leaving, especially with a later flight.

I guess I figured why spend the money for a whole ticket if I wouldn’t be there all day but since my flights later I will definitely consider it now! Thank you!

Don't buy a new ticket. Add a day to your existing ticket. You didn't say how many park days you have already. But if you're there more than a few days, adding a day can be pretty cheap. If your ticket is only a couple days, then it would be more to add.

We normally spend our last day with a resort breakfast then shopping/lunch at Disney Springs....gives us a last bit of Disney magic before we head home :)

Bell services will hold your luggage. I would probably sleep in and get a table service reservation somewhere for lunch, then head to Disney Springs.

Movie at DS , tour resorts , time at pool, shopping, RESORT meal, mini golf, bowling, Bar Hop, or leave property.

I would spend time at the pool, getting dressed in the pool bathrooms after. Book a nice TS dinner. Go early to the airport.

Take a rest day at the resort earlier in your stay and then go to the parks on the last day. Take advantage of resort time and park time.

Sleep in
Pack and Check out at 11am or 1pm if they give us late check out.
Give bags to bell services
Go to Disney Sorings or Epcot to eat if we have an annual pass.
Head back to the resort in the late afternoon and pick up bags.
Go to airport

The day goes by super quick and we find we’re more in a Disney Springs mood then a park mood.

Due to canceled flights home on two trips in the past year, we’ve had these “bonus days” and enjoyed them a lot. We got late checkout both times, which is 1 pm. We took a morning swim/ate pastries/had a breakfast adult beverage by the pool and then got all cleaned up and packed up by 1. Bell services will hold your luggage all day.

One time, we went to Disney Springs, saw a movie/had lunch while watching and then wandered around shopping, having drinks/snacks, and listening to live music for the last few hours of our time. The other time, we took a bus to AK, then hopped a bus for the very short ride to AKL and checked out all of the Safari trails there. Then we bused back to AK and hopped over to Contemporary and did a monorail resort crawl - drinks and snacks at lounges and resort exploring at Contemporary, Poly, and GF.

Both days were super fun! Enjoy your non-park time!

On departure day, we usually sleep in, grab a late breakfast or lunch somewhere. We might hang out around the pool if the weather is nice. We also have airport lounge memberships through our credit cards, and we will often get to the airport early and settle in there as part of our re-entry. It's a calmer space than most of WDW or the rest of the airport.
