Do the attendants start filling the morning spots from cars that have left at Animal Kingdom or do they just park all the way back if you arrive late afternoon? We are coming out for the day for the DVC party and trying to decide whether it would be easier to park at HS and then drive to AK that afternoon or park at AK in the morning and bus to HS because I dont want to be all the way at the back of the lot late at night when the party ends. Thanks in advance! AK is the one park that I have only parked at once in the past and Im not very familiar with the lot.

If you want to take a bus from AK to HS they don't start until 10 AM. I don't know about back-filling in the parking lot in the afternoon.

Thanks-I didnt even think about when buses start-Thats good to know!

Would we have any issues getting back to AK from HS around 4 or 5 when the park closes to day guests at 6 that night?

Should not be a issue for park to park buses if you go before 5 PM to AK. Don't wait long since park to park buses tend to stop 1 hour before park closing.

DH and I arrived at AK late afternoon once or twice (4 or 4:30 maybe?) to find no one in the parking booths and no one guiding cars to parking spots. We just kept driving and ultimately parked just behind the medical parking area. Nice short walk to the park entrance, which was wonderful since of course the trams weren’t running either.

However, with the DVC event that night, they might operate parking as normal later than usual.
