Late afternoon birthday party: snacks for adults?

I recently had a party for ds at a gymnastics place. It was from 2-3:30. Aside from cake, we had chips, cookies, donuts (the cake was a donut cake), watermelon, Capri sun and water. Some of the adults hung around cause it was about a 20 min drive back home. The adults didn’t really snack that much. The kids had 30 min in the party area so they snacked pretty quickly and we sang happy birthday.

I was recently at another kid party and it was from 11-1. There was enough pizza for the grownups but most didn’t eat it.

I would not serve coffee. I would not serve pizza either. I think I would bring a veggie tray for the parents, maybe some other dip like spinach dip with pita bread. Just a couple simple things. Or nothing but the cake and juice or whatever you were serving with it. I wouldn't expect as the parent of an attendee that you were going to feed me. It is a nice thing to do, though. The timing of the party is between meals, which I am assuming you did for a reason.

I consider 6 early for dinner, we eat between 7-7:30 but that is because we always waited for dh to get home so we could eat together.
I can't imagine dinner at 4, my kids would want another dinner at 8.

I couldn't imagine eating a full meal that late all week long- maybe once in awhile when we were out or something but not everyday, that is way to late for me to have a full meal, I would never be able to sleep at night. When I was a kid my mom would feed us early weekdays because my dad didn't get home from work until 6:30. On Sunday we still do our main big meal at 2-3pm and then at night just a snack.
