Latch-Hook

Does anyone here do latch-hook? I just took it up again after a 20+ year absence. Is it normal for the end of the yarn to sort of shred when you pull the hook through the rug or am I doing something wrong?

Same thing happens with me. The only good thing is when it's done, it all blends in. Don't you just love latchhook, it's so rhythmic and easy to do.

I taught my DD (12) to do it this summer to keep her busy inthe car on long trips.

I have the unravelling thing happen occasionally, but not much. Be sure that the hook isn't catching just part of the yarn, or it will unravel it.
