We stood in line for 2 1/2 hours for Monsters Inc. last year, and then of course regretted it afterwards. What should we expect to be the big line this year? We are going first two weeks of May.

I would guess Indy, since the fast pass machine wont be working at that time. And in DCA either Soarin' because thats typical, or Screamin' because of its limited hours of operation (opening at 1pm)

If Splash Mountain opens up in the last week of your trip, it will be that one. Trust me on that: people are really itching to go on that ride.

Just to let you know, lines for MOnster's Inc. almost never reach more than 25 minutes.

Oh, thats right. I forgot Splash was getting ready to reopen. The lines for it will be long.

I *think* it should be opening around the 19th. Does that fall into your trip?

When Monsters Inc opened in January 2006 the AP holders descended upon it in force. The lines were incredibly long for the first several months. When we visited in August I was expecting shorter lines, but was completely surprised when it was a walk-on at 10:30AM.

Bottom line is that Monsters Inc's newness has worn off, and while it is a solid dark ride it is not all that spectacular (as you probably grasped after your 2.5 hour wait). The lines are pretty mild all day long, and very short closer to park opening.

I plan to be there from May 31st to June 12. Will Indy have FastPass during this time? Is FastPass not available now because of the slow season?

You should be fine, Fastpass is scheduled to return to Indy on May 18. They took it out temporarily while they do some construction on the ride que or something like that. So you are in luck!

While Monsters is "cute" it is not worth any kind of wait, hopefully this trip we can skip it. Last year we waited almost 45 mins. :)

Wow, we went in July and at most waited 15 minutes. Once we just walked on. It's a really neat ride, but yeah I'd never wait no 2.5 hours for it. I doubt you'll see that again.

Monsters Inc was the new ride for Disneys Cali adventure. It opened last year, so I would imagine just like everest the lines were long then cause of the new ride. I don't think monsters will be anywhere near as bad as it was when it first oepned up.

I guess my family is in the minority but we loved Monsters Inc it was a big fav. We did it several times during our trip and never tired of it , of course the movie is a big favorite also. I wish WDW got the ride instead of a Turtle Talk with Crush type show.

Not on my trip.

LOL. Actually, we went to Monsters Inc right before the fireworks started in Disneyland... and it said 15 mins, so we were like OK cool. We went in and sa w nobody in line. HUH?!?!!? We kept going and going running in the line and nobody was there, we got all the way to the loading platform and the cars were stopped, and they had to restart the ride for us. When we got back to the loading platform we went AGAIN AGAIN, and we got to ride again.

When did you go? I said almost. I'd assume during Christmas week/New Years, 4th of July week, and maybe Veteran's Day lines get up to around 30-45 minutes.

I always wait to ride Monster's Inc. until nighttime. For some reason taht ride is always a walk on then, but has mild lines during the day. I think because it is in an obscure little corner of the park where there isn't much else to do or see. It is one of my faves.

Lines you should expect to be long: Space Mtn, Splash Mtn (if open during your trip), Indy, Peter Pan, TOT, Soarin and Cali Screamin.

Count on a long line for the Nemo Submarine ride when it opens. It will be the Monsters Inc. ride for 2007 in terms of the initial line. Hopefully the experience will be a better one than Monsters Inc. for a 2+ hour wait !
