Define insane? It’s spring break so it will definitely be crowded but having been during that time before, being at the park early, having somewhat of a plan for what you would like to do, taking breaks when peak crowds hit… you will have a great time. Spring in Disneyland is definitely one of my favorite times of year!

We went last October 2022 and a couple of the days there I would define as insane -- ie so busy that nearly every ride was an hour or more wait, Genie+ booked out to evening right off the bat, you could barely walk through some of the choke points, etc. I made the joke at the time that it was so crowded you could lift both feet of the ground and the pressure of the crowds would still carry you halfway across the park before putting your feet back down. Couple of the Disney blogger sites have said that the end of March is possibly the worst week of the year for crowds, but not sure if that is still accurate.

No way is end of March worse than October.

It’s so hard to know these days wait crowds will be like at Disneyland but I think chances are good that the end of March will be busy but not over-the-top insane like October.

I agree. Those bloggers are wrong. On the most crowded days at the end of March, it won’t come near October. October is THE most crowded time to visit Disneyland. The end of March can be crowded but it’s still doable and enjoyable. October is no longer enjoyable for us to visit. We won’t do it again unless we are going to Oogie Boogie, and we have Magic Keys.

We are coming that week too! not only is it spring break but it’s a big cheer competition (the reason we are coming) and I just saw it’s the last week before annual pass holders are blocked! I can only come Thursday/Friday and it’s last day for annual pass holders. I’m expecting it to be packed. This is our make up trip from March 2020 that got cancelled last second!

No it won't. It never is too bad.

I don't think Disneyland is a huge spring break destination. Most people who live in So Cal (the majority of daily visitors to the parks on any given day) go to Hawaii or camping for spring break.

Crowds are pretty even through the spring.

Almost every day had a wait factor of 10 out of 10. Many of those days were among the top 10 busiest days of the year. Pound for pound that spring break week beats out the Halloween season.

This year their break is scheduled for April 1 to April 9. That's the most crucial spring break schedule to know.

Just FYI the absolute busiest day of 2022 was a tie between April 12 and October 15 with an average wait of 48 minutes.

A higher per average wait time in April does not mean the park was less crowded October. Wait times are no longer good indicators of crowd levels, especially with the horrible maintenance issues Disney has been having. In April, people are strictly visiting Disneyland to visit Disneyland, not participate in seasonal offerings. In October, people are visiting Disneyland for the decor, seasonal and costumes characters, seasonal food offerings, and merchandise (and of course, the rides). The stores are packed. The restaurants are packed. The walkways are packed. The character lines are insane. Just look at the wait time for Haunted Mansion Holiday. It’s not unheard of for the wait to be over two hours for that ride! The wait in April won’t top 30 minutes.

We went several times during that time period in April and in October. The most “crowded” April day on whatever historical crowd calendar you are looking at did not look or feel anywhere near as crowded as any day in October.

Wait times being 10/10 is not a quantifiable metric.

I went there during that week. It was not that bad.

I agree that there is just something extra about the crowds in October that goes beyond ride wait times (although those will be high).
