I think we have decided to make our next trip the last week of August this year (unless hubby decides in the next day or so to run in the Disney half or the avengers half). Since Labor Day is late this year, I wasn't sure if looking at the historical hours will help much. Would it make more sense to assume the hours will be like they have in the past few years (starting to shorten from summer hours), or that they would still be on summer hours since labor day isn't for another week?

Any thoughts on crowd levels? I know AP passes are unblocked I believe the week before, and most CA schools seem to be back in school, but with the 60th anniversary, it may be busier than normal.

I suspect there will be a moderate uptick in crowds when the AP come unblocked compared to previous year's because of the 60th. This will be their first chance to see the 60th activities since June (and potentially the first chance to see anything that debuted after the blockout started). I do think the hours will start to shorten, but probably not be at full non-peak season schedule yet. Haunted Mansion will likely close for installation of the overlay in late-August, so that one might already be down by the time you go.
