Last Two Trips Using Tiffany

Sad to say after using Tiffany for six trips, our last two trips were less than good.

Thought perhaps it was just an off night on our trip last December, we arrived later in the evening around 10:30, driver was nice enough, stopped at a store for us as requested but prior to arriving on Disney property ran a RED light and the light turned RED at least 100 yards, not feet, prior to entering the intersection. My husband & I were both rather shocked. Too bad the police were another 1/4 mile or so down the road trying to catch speeders or whatever.

This most recent trip, Mother's Day weekend just me & the kids, we had a driver who actually barely helped me with the luggage, had to get it off the carrousel myself, then stopped at a 7-11 for my grocery stop!!! He said everything else was closed, it was barely 10:00 at night!!! Being alone with two young children I didn't want to make a fuss but we didn't have quite the snacks or my Propel flavored water for the next four days. He was same driver that picked us up. I didn't tip him either direction but then I didn't know about the new mandatory tip requirement either, I thought it was strange when he dropped us off at the airport and he just kinda stood there at the airport waiting for a tip but after the way he treated us on the first leg of our trip I wasn't about to give him extra money. He did raise the price from the previous 85.00 to 90.00, I hadn't read about that but didn't argue with him either.

I don't know what we'll do for our next trip which will hopefully include Disney, Universal, Sea World and a Disney Cruise, I guess we'll rent a car or ???

We have always preferred to use FL Tours for our transportation. Andy is a wonderful guy who will see to it you are taken care of.

FL Tours is the official transportation company of the DIS and by using them we are supporting these boards. I know that I would be lost when it comes to my Disney planning without these boards.

Go to www.fltours.com/reservations.htm and fill out a request, you will see pricing before you ever have to submit the request for a reservation

My recent FL. Tours Review

Yes! Andy of FL Tours has been great with helping me plan our trip this July. He made a mistake with our quote and is still honoring close to the original quote, even though the cost of the trip should have been much higher. :)
From what I can tell about Andy, he is conscientious worker that tries very hard to please.

I think every business has it's ups and downs, but when a person has more downs with the same business, that's when the red flags come up.:Pinkbounc

Qwackertoo - Which grocery did you stop at on your first visit? We have a late flight in which we will probably not get on the road until after 10:00. We have also been told that most grocery stores will be closed by that time.

I may post another question about grocery stores in the MOCO, Universal areas.:smooth:

Im wondering if we had the same driver. I think his name was Sam - he was from India I think. We told him during our March trip that we wanted to stop at the grocery store only for water. He stopped at 7-11. We protested and he said it was the same price as everywhere else and then got on his cell phone. We decided if it wasnt a good price we'd demand to go elsewhere. But it was a decent price. Then when we came out he was still on the phone and didnt get out to help us or anything. He didnt talk to us at all during the drive to our resort or back to the airport. We shouldnt have tipped him.

wow, that's discouraging since I just booked Tiffany for our trip. Are they allowed to raise your quoted rate? I printed a copy of ours out to take along just in case.

Our driver this last time was Omar, the 7-11 was AWFUL, the guy working at the checkout didn't have many teeth, the aisles were completely cluttered to the point you couldn't see/reach any merchandise on the shelves. I used cash for fear my credit card information would be "stolen"!!! I bought 4 bottles of Propel water and two packs of cough drops and that was it. The water was 1.49 per bottle. Being "alone" for the first time on this trip with two kids and late at night (10:00-10:30 p.m.), I was afraid to argue with him and demand to be taken to a decent store, didn't want to make him mad and no one show up to pick us up to return us to the airport OR for him to run off and leave us while in store with all our stuff.

Familyof14 I'll try to find my credit card statement from December and let you know the name of the store, I know it wasn't Publix, and report back!

Trekker-
I read your report using Fltours, and that is exactly what we would need. Airport to WDW resort, to DCL port, back to resort, and then to airport. Can I ask about what I could expect to pay for all these transfers? And tip is not included, correct ? How far in advance should I book them if I go with Fltours? It would be me, hubby, and 5 yr. old twins.

After reading your dissatisfaction regarding the grocery stop, I e-mailed TTC to confirm our reservation and grocery stop. Here is a copy of the quick response I received from them:

HELLO,

IT IS A 20 MIN COMPLIMENTARY STOP AND WE STOP @ PUBLIX.

THANK YOU,

I think I will print out the reponse and take it with me in case we have any difficulties.

The Publix stores around WDW all closed at 10:00 p.m., when I last checked. That, of course, makes it difficult for any towncar service to make a grocery stop at a Publix after 10:00 p.m.

I would think that a towncar service should be able to stop at a grocery store with longer hours, such the Winn-Dixie Marketplace at 11957 South Apopka Vineland Road (near Downtown Disney), which is open every night until midnight.

If a driver refused to stop any store except 7-11, my tip to the driver would reflect that. I usually tip $15 to WDW (due to the grocery stop) and $10 back, but I'd reduce that $15 to near zero.

I'm disappointed to read that Tiffany's grocery stop is now 20 minutes rather than the former 30 minutes. It takes longer to shop in an unfamiliar store than in your store back home, even if you've made out a shopping list ahead of time. 20 minutes could be tight if you're planning to stock the kitchen for a week in a DVC villa.

As I posted a few minutes ago, I was disappointed to read that Tiffany Towncar's grocery stop is now 20 minutes, rather than the former 30 minutes. So I decided to see what FL TOURS' policy is. According to http://www.fltours.com/faq.htm#3 FL TOURS allows 30 minutes:
<blockquote>5) Does FL TOURS allow a quick stop on the way to Disney and Universal area resorts?
Yes, FL TOURS allows a 30 minute complimentary grocery stop for round trip reservations only as long as a request is made at the time of the reservation. If your flight is being delayed over 30 min however, we respectfully ask you check with your driver if her/his schedule permits to accommodate you with your need. Please remember since the COSTCO, SAMS CLUB and SUPER WALL MART are not on the way to either Disney or Universal resorts, FL TOURS would not stop a the above stores. </blockquote>
FL Tours charges $10-$20 more than Tiffany (RT MCO to WDW resorts), but I'm now thinking that FL Tours might be worth more.
