Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

I love the magic shots!! I wish we would have done more of them. We were doing good just to get any photos with a baby :rotfl2: Oh well next time.

Great pictures as always. I'm sure it's hard to end the trip report but at least you have a couple planned for this year. I am having serious Disney withdrawls right now. It has been almost 15 months since we were there and won't be back for a year....:sad2:

One of these days we will make the opening show at MK.. probably when we go without kids. :rotfl2:

How is Main St bakery now? Are the pastries the same or are they 'starbucks' pastries? :crazy2:

Great score on Buzz!!!! Oh, nice job letting your sweetheart win one. :rotfl2:

Love the all your photo pass pics!!!

WAIT A SEC.... you took a picture with Stitch????? I wish I was there to see that. I couldn't even talk you into seeing him when we were together. :lmao::lmao::lmao: :lmao:

I love the pictures with Lumiere! You could frame one of those pictures and put it next to the Lumiere gift you got from your son. ;)

Awww how sweet are you letting Mark win on Buzz. I guess your shirt is completely true. And I have to add as an aside, I LOVE the shirts you are wearing.

Hahahaha, that Stitch sure is a rascal.

I love that you got a photo of the CM in Storybook Circus. I fell in love with the costumes when it first opened, and are still among my favourite costumes in Disney.

Good call meeting Gaston. I haven't actually done the meet, but I have stood and watched a whole set. Easily the most entertaining character in Disney.

All those Magic Shots are fabulous Kathy, but I have to admit that I'm always such a big fan of the balloon one. They came out fantastic!!

Aww, it's the last day already? At least you're going out with a bang by visiting the most magical place on Earth...Starbucks....I mean, the Magic Kingdom. ;)

Yes, the last day. :( You are too funny.

Your special photo shots are really cute, even if you didn't get Chip. The ones with Lumiere are very cute. :)

Thanks, Sue. I really liked the ones we got.

So I was like "Marks shirt is too cute" and then I saw yours....GAH...you are both too cute!

Thanks; I couldn't resist them when I saw them.

So sad that its the last day. Why does that always happen?

I don't know; if you figure it out, please let me know.

I have never entered the MK via the parking lot so ferry pictures always fascinate me. My DH and I went last spring for 5 days but only did 1 park day and just lots of resort stuff, etc. the other days. I SO wish we would have just ridden the ferry. It would have been the perfect trip to "waste" the time doing so. Someday I will!!

The Ferry sometimes is faster than the monorail...especially when it is broken down.

Nice work on making it to the opening show....even if it meant a slight delay in your coffee!

It was worth the slight delay in my coffee.

Stitch is always a really great character meet.

I have never been a fan, but the little rascal is growing on me.

Gaston!

He truly is the best!

Dying over your PP pictures! I have never seen Lumiere! I love it!!

Thanks.

Kathy, excellent way to wrap up your last day in WDW. With that shirt Mark was wearing, no wonder you allowed Mark to beat you for once. I bet he forgot all about the previous two times you crushed him and was smiles all day for finally beating you. :lmao:

Actually, I crushed him three times...but who is counting? :joker:

I'm glad you had a good time with Gaston. I have never seen him yet myself, but from all the YouTube's I have seen he is hilarious. Good thing Mark is far more handsome and with bigger muscles, I saw that twinkle in your eye in that picture. :rotfl2:

We had a great time with him. Considering the long line he had, he spent quite a bit of time with everyone who came up.

I have to admit, you and Mark are so photogenic and always look great. Even after a long hot day in the parks they are still keepers.

You are very sweet (or a really good liar :lmao:).

OH MY MAGIC SHOTS GALORE!!!! I just LOVE LOVE THEM ALL!!! No you didn't get chip but these all are fantastic!!! Did you get the video with Lumiere?

I have to check when I get home. I thought I had a video with Lumiere, but I didn't see it when I was doing the update.

You look like you're riding IASW or something. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

That's exactly how I look on IASW. They should have cameras on that ride...I bet the pictures would be a hoot!

:lmao: That was my first thought when I saw the pictures. I thought you hated Stitch, but you seemed to be having a good time with him. I'm glad that he was in true form for you and Mark.

The little guy is growing on me. He was really giving it to Mark (maybe that's why he is growing on me ;)).

But throw my hat and we've got a problem :rotfl2:

You should have seen Mark trying to dig it out of the bushes. :rotfl:

What? Mark didn't want to challenge him to a push up contest? :confused3 :lmao:

Mark would not get up off the ground if he attempted a push up.

Sorry the Chip pictures didn't show up, but the pictures you got look great. Your photographer definitely looks like he went out of his way to work with you guys and get a lot of different pictures. Almost like you got a private tour of Fantasyland and your own personal photo shoot!

We did have a pricate tour...John was awesome.

Hello Miss Kathy!

Hello Ms. Sheresa.

I have definitely not been absent, I've been following along, I just haven't had the (work) time to comment. But I am living vicariously through all of your fantastic photos and happy Mark moments. It's making it so much easier to wait for our upcoming trip in April (79 DAYS!!!!).

Work is always getting in the way of oru DIS time, isn't it? Yay for your trip only be 79 days away. I'm at 100 today (but reach double digits tomorrow). I'm glad you are enjoying.

Thank you for being such a wonderful part of the DIS. You make me want to come back every day. :goodvibes

Awww...you are sooooo kind. Thank you. I love my DIS family.

The ride photo on Buzz is hilarious!!

I couldn't help it...it just fit the situation after the three previous rides.

I have never done a meet with Stitch but he seems like it would be a good one. I have actually never even watched Lilo and Stitch... :duck: I should do that before we go...

We've done him a couple of times now; he is growing on me. We saw Lilo and Stitch for the first time last year right before our trip.

I just LOVE what they did with the new Dumbo area. The water features and themeing is just great, especially at night! I have to say I never rode it regularly before, but it is one ride I look forward to now!

I agree with you 100%. I just love the theme of that whole area.

And the picture of Mark before the ride gets going had me really confused because he was facing you and the elephant behind him was facing the other way.. it was freaky! LOL. Took me a minute to realize the people behind were turned around. :lmao:

Now that's funny.

I want to meet Gaston!! I have heard so many awesome things. That is for sure on my must do's for this next trip!

I had read other TR's and about the great interaction so I told Mark before we even left for the trip that Gaston was a priority.

That PP was great! Looks like he followed you all around taking magic shots. So cool! :thumbsup2 Too bad you didn't get chip though.

He led us around is what he did. :)

Awww, what cute tshirts!

Thanks; Etsy has some really cute stuff.

And, even without Chip, the magic shots are adorable.

Thanks; I was very pleased with them.

Your Buzz ride picture cracked me up! You are a good wife! :lmao:

Why yes I am. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

That is quite the drop-off from the previous score.

Ooops.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It's my favorite.

Awesome! I think you're warming up to him...:rolleyes1

Ssssh....I am (just don't tell Marv).

Looks like a fun interaction. I would have had him tested for steroids.

He really is great...especially with the ladies.

:thumbsup2:goodvibes

Don't you love when you get that Disney magic?

Love that journey on the MK ferry. So exciting and beautiful and relaxing.

It really is and I much prefer it over the monorail.

Oh man... your pictures of the morning sun in MK are making me seriously NEED to go back. Right now. *sigh* November is forever away.

Can I go with you? May is too far away.

I saw your picture of your coffees and it reminded me that I have coffee left somewhere around here. That was a pleasant revelation. :lmao:

Nice surprise right there.

Whoa, awesome score on Buzz!!

Thanks.

Awww the PEOPLE MOVER! I'm reeeeeeally feeling nostalgic this morning. I think it's the excitement of planning the next one finally taking over the negative memories of the last one.

And what I am sure will be a better trip.

Hehehe cute pics with Stitch!

Thanks. :goodvibes

Great picture of the Mine Train going by! Show that to Disney, it should be used in promos.

It is a rather good one, isn't it?

I need to meet Gaston next time. I've seen so many videos of amazing interactions, he sounds like a blast.

Yes, you and Johnny definitely need to go find Gaston.

Aww too bad Chip never appeared, but Lumiere is adorable!

I think so too.

And Sebastian! I've never seen that one before! Awesome!

Sebastian is a favorite from the Mermaid movie. :goodvibes

That was very nice of you to try and let Mark win at Buzz ... though I don't think Disney will be using that picture in their promotional material for how exciting a vacation to Disney World is :rotfl2:

No, you dont' think so? At least it's better than the video all over FB of the spoiled brat going off on the CM because she couldn't get into a restaurant. ;)

Sounds like great character interaction with both Stitch and Gaston!

It was...we had a lot of fun with both of them.

Love your Dumbo photos - especially the one where you can see the rest of newish Fantasy land in the background ... really gives the sense of what they were going for with the circus setting up in the field at the edge of town.

Isn't it marvelous? I LOVE that area.

Bummer about not getting the Chip magic shot but you got a bunch of other great ones! Very nice of you to send the e-mail to the PP photographer - I am sure that was greatly appreciated.

John definitely deserved our praise.

Very noble of you to let Mark win on Buzz. I'm not sure I could have done that, I'm just way to competitive. :rotfl:

I'm surprised I did because Mark ALWAYS wins (well he did until this trip).

Awe, cute pictures with Stitch. He was never my favorite but had definitely grown on me the last two trips. He didn't have a PP photographer when I saw him in December.

I wonder why no photograher with him lately?

Of course you had to get a ride on Dumbo on your last day. Great pictures from the ride, I could look at those all day.

They did a really great job with the whole Dumbo area.

Isn't Gaston so much fun to meet? I'm really surprised he didn't challenge Mark to an arm wrestling contest.

He was a lot of fun; he had a really long line and I was impressed with the amount of time he spent with us.

Wonderful Magic Shots! I didn't know you could get Chip at MK. We got him one time in front of the B&TB theater at HS. Mom and I got the Lumiere one in October but I haven't gotten that far in my TR yet.

I will try for Chip next time; but these others were great.

I'm really late wishing Mark :bday: but since you just went out to celebrate last night, maybe I'm not too late!

Thanks, Dee. Yes, the celebration continued into the other night so you are fine. :)

Nice pictures on Figment. I'm with you- I really miss Dreamfinder.

Dreamfinder is just a part of the whole package and should be there.

Love the views you get on the ferry. Especially of the Poly villas.

Thanks, Dee.

I don't think I have ever seen the Goofy bench. Is that the one that everyone got all worked up about when it was either removed or moved?

No, it's the Roy Disney bench they move. The only thing different about Goofy is he used to talk, but he doesn't anymore.

Nice score on Buzz!

Thanks.

Still need to catch up on a couple of updates. I'll be back!

:goodvibes

Sorry...I gave another update for you to catch up on and am probably going to do another one this afternoon.

The Chip Magic Shot and the Sebastian Magic shot are both on my list to try and get in May. ::yes:: Did one PP guy take all of those? Can they do that?

Yes, one PP did all that. We told him we wanted Chip and he just walked us across the whole New Fantasyland and took pictures at different spots. He truly was Disney magic at it's best.

Buzz Lightyear again - Yay! (Can you tell that I love Buzz?)

Look...and we agree on a ride because I love Buzz too.

I have to say, you are a very sweet wife for allowing Mark to win. I hope he appreciates you! (I'm sure he does)

Yes he appreciates me; he better after 31 years (almost 32).

I love the Stitch pictures/interaction! We've never met Stitch, but it seems like a lot of people have good interactions with him.

He is a lot of fun; I hope you meet him on your next trip.

Mark certainly looks happy to be back on Dumbo!

Mark would LIVE on the Dumbo ride if he could.

Gaston really is great - he's always funny.

It's the first time we saw him personally (I have had stomachaches laughing at all the youtube videos of him).

I love the PhotoPass pictures! Even though you didn't get Chip ... the Lumiere ones are adorable (as are all the other ones).

Thanks, Sarah.

I love the magic shots!! I wish we would have done more of them. We were doing good just to get any photos with a baby :rotfl2: Oh well next time.

Alexander will be older next time and I'm sure it will be a lot easier with the photos. You got some great ones that I've seen on your TR.

Great pictures as always. I'm sure it's hard to end the trip report but at least you have a couple planned for this year. I am having serious Disney withdrawls right now. It has been almost 15 months since we were there and won't be back for a year....:sad2:

I really wish you were going sooner. (:

One of these days we will make the opening show at MK.. probably when we go without kids. :rotfl2:

Ummm....yep, when you and Mel are alone maybe.

How is Main St bakery now? Are the pastries the same or are they 'starbucks' pastries? :crazy2:

Believe it or not, I never ate at the Main St. Bakery BEFORE it became Starbucks. :duck:

Great score on Buzz!!!! Oh, nice job letting your sweetheart win one. :rotfl2:

I didn't want him to cry...it would have been embarrassing.

Love the all your photo pass pics!!!

Thanks, Tim.

WAIT A SEC.... you took a picture with Stitch????? I wish I was there to see that. I couldn't even talk you into seeing him when we were together. :lmao::lmao::lmao: :lmao:

Yes, we took PICTURES with Stitch. I thought the kids should have their time with Stitch. ;)

I love the pictures with Lumiere! You could frame one of those pictures and put it next to the Lumiere gift you got from your son. ;)

What a splendid idea! I am going to do that this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.
The lumieres are so cute!

Awww how sweet are you letting Mark win on Buzz. I guess your shirt is completely true. And I have to add as an aside, I LOVE the shirts you are wearing.

First, Rob, thank you for putting me at 100 pages. :) The man had a rough year...the least I could do for him. ;) Thanks...aren't they great shirts?

Hahahaha, that Stitch sure is a rascal.

He really is; and we had a lot of fun with him.

I love that you got a photo of the CM in Storybook Circus. I fell in love with the costumes when it first opened, and are still among my favourite costumes in Disney.

They are my favorites too. It's the whole "old" circus theme.

Good call meeting Gaston. I haven't actually done the meet, but I have stood and watched a whole set. Easily the most entertaining character in Disney.

You MUST do it when you are there, what, in a week? I think the two of you together would be a hoot.

All those Magic Shots are fabulous Kathy, but I have to admit that I'm always such a big fan of the balloon one. They came out fantastic!!

Thanks, Rob. The balloon one has special meaning to me as you'll see in one of the next couple updates.

Before I start this update, I forgot to mention that while waiting in line to see Gaston, we met another DISer. She doesn't post, just lurks. I wish I could remember her name, but I cannot. We stood and talked for about 10 minutes and she pointed out to her girls that Mark was the "hat man." It was so nice to chat with her.

So after what seemed like our own "personal" photo shoot, we moved on as there were still some things we wanted to get done before our lunch ADR.

As we were walking towards Liberty Square, we saw these folks out performing

We passed Pinocchio Village Haus...but we would not be trying it this trip

It was busy...but not crazy busy (and this spot always seems congested to me)

As we passed the Tangled area, I told Mark we had to look for the hidden Pascals:

We were headed here

Mark was feeling some hunger pains, so we stopped at the little place across from the Liberty Square Riverboat. Mark went with the healthy option and I did not:

After we finished our snack, we decided to get on the Liberty Square Riverboat. It's probably been a good 10 years since we had done this (it's always closed in September when we are there).

We went outside to find a spot and sat down. There was a grandson with his grandmother who was I'm guessing in her 90's so we gave them our seats. They were most appreciative.

Some pics from our ride:

Continued from previous post

While we were riding the boat, I had been texting with Erika (I don't remember her DIS name as she's not on here a lot) and we wanted to meet up and say hello. So we arranged it that when we got off the boat, we would meet right out in front.

We had a nice chat with Erika and her husband Tom and son Jeremy for about ten minutes. They had somewhere to be and we had a few more things we still needed to do so we had to say goodbye. Erika, if you get here, it was wonderful meeting you and your family and I'm so glad we were able to work it out. :)

Mark wanted to go see the Tiki Birds, so we walked that way (we cut through near the restrooms near Adventureland and saw these guys on the way)

Selfie in the Tiki Room

Continued in next post

After the Tiki Room, it was time to see those Pirates

Mark would get no sword fight this time after Pirates. :(

Up next, Mark meets some special ladies and we have a traditional lunch

You guys got a lot done that last day!

I've never stopped to look for the Pascal's yet. I need to do that sometime. How many did you end up finding? I heard they were hard to spot.

I love riding the Liberty Belle, it's kind of relaxing and a nice way to take a break. I actually rode it at night when I was there in December. That was quite a different experience.

Cute selfie in the Tiki Room! Hope you didn't have any crazy kids near you. :rotfl:

Pirates is always great but so sad that Mark didn't have any one to sword fight with.

I'm pretty sure I know where you are headed for lunch. ::yes::

What a busy day! You got a lot done that day.

I have never seen performers out in front of the Beast's Castle. We need to keep our eyes peeled when we are next there.

A healthy option at Disney for Mark? Doesn't he know that there are NO calories at Disney. ;) Honestly, I have found myself craving a healthier opion sometimes, but I cannot have some of the fruit in their fruitbowl and I do not eat melon. :sad2:

Love all your DISmeets. So much fun! :thumbsup2

Oh how I do NOT want this TR to end. I always enjoy your visits to WDW, mainly because you and Mark always have such a good time no matter what's in the cards. (Go with the flow like I am.)

I've been following but not posting, so I have a few comments from older posts I caught up with the other day. The t-shirt Mark had on that his favorite Disney princess was his wife is priceless!

I agree that the Crystal Palace is my favorite character breakfast. I like that the tables aren't on top of one another, the food and of course the characters.

Your last day is jam packed full of things you did, and it's not over? We've always left in the morning to go home (I don't know why), but seeing your TR's where you usually finish out spending time at the parks has me thinking differently if I ever get back.

Read you soon! :surfweb:

Awwww, I love that you got recognized by a DISer. And the "Hat Man"... yup, that's right. :thumbsup2

Hidden Pascal hunt is definitely on the agenda. I've found a few, but I want to find them all. It could be a long day.

Oh Mark.... Fruit Cups??? You're on vacation!!!! :rotfl2:

I sure do hope and plan to still go to Disney when/if I'm 90. That's so awesome!

And goodness, ANOTHER DISmeet!!! How wonderful. :goodvibes

Looks like some nice afternoon fun. ANd thanks for the reminder to make sure the Liberty River boat makes into our itinerary. I saw this post and then realized it had slipped out. I have still yet to do it (that I remember).
