Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

We had just finished with seeing the Lion King and having lunch. We decided to go to Dinosaur. For some reason, we ended up going back through Africa (not sure how that happened) and stopped on the bridge near Expedition Everest to get some photopass pictures.

Flame Tree to Africa to Dinosaur? That's really going around your elbow to get to your thumb.

My redneck photo of the ride:

Love it! :thumbsup2

We really enjoy the show and will probably go back in a couple of years (it's not something we have to see every trip).

I still haven't seen that one. Seems like there's always something to catch up on.

And now you posted another update! As you can see, I'm working very hard today! :rotfl2:

I can see that. ;)

Lion King was truly amazing. I work at a professional theater company, and sometimes we get offers for other shows. Rarely the Broadway shows, so Lion King was truly a treat to get tickets for. We all loved it.

I'm so glad you loved it; and what a very nice treat.

I love Dinosaur. I can't believe you had a whole row to yourself! I can see why Mark wouldn't ride it though, if he had neck surgery.

I could have probably ridden two more times without a wait. Yes, it's just too jerky for him.

I love the Donald Duck hat he's wearing. That's hilarious!

I liked that one too.

Finding Nemo is such a great show. That one we HAVE seen!

I agree that it's great.

And Daisy Duck. We love her.

She doesn't get enough love.

love the pictures of you and Mark with the butterflies. Yeah for Dinosaur picture. We always try to do some silly pictures too. Danielle comes up with some good ones for sure and Popadon too. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Mom V. I love the poses that Danielle and Popadon come up with.

Luvin the butterfly magic shots, they're so cool. I had a hard time finding photopass people that did Magic shots in Disneyland :(

Em, sorry you had a hard time finding magic shots in DL. :(

Ooh those are cute magic shots with the butterflies! I've never seen those before.

It was the first time I had ever see them...and I didn't know what they were until I got home and saw the pictures.

Wow, what perfect timing to be able to walk right on into the preshow area of Dinosaur. :thumbsup2

There was NO ONE around that whole area.

It's been several years since we've seen the Nemo show at the Animal Kingdom. It's a little too long for our taste.

It was much needed as hot as it was that day.

Those are some great photopass pictures from the EE bridge - love the magic shots!

Thanks, Phil.

The dance parade looks fund but that can be a very hot section of AK (which itself seems to always be 10 degrees hotter than the other parks)

All of AK can be hot (although I still find the Studios hotter).

Glad you enjoyed Nemo - I think it is a very good show, but agree, not a necessity every trip

It is very good; but once every year or two is good for us.

Thanks Kathy, Hubby walked in the room as I was drying my eyes from reading the store of the Tinkerbell Bow. What a perfect gift. I love that she will have a gift with a story from Joe. I don't think a day has gone by that I don't think of Amanda and Mira Joey.
Great job on not smoking.

I'm sorry I made you cry. Amanda took Mira to the Magic Kingdom yesterday. It was Amanda's birthday. Thanks...up to 15 days now.

Love the Donald hat.... but I could so see my grandson with the dino hat.

I love the dino hat for kids.

I love the butterfly pictures!

Thanks, Sarah.

I love all the hat pictures ... but I think my favorite is the dinosaur head. It's eating Mark!

I had to go back....yes it does look like that.

I love the Nemo pictures! I've never seen it (even though I love the movie), but it looks really cute!

It's cute, but long and why we only go every other trip or so.

I just found you!! Sorry it took me so long. Now to go back and catch up.:cool1:

:welcome::welcome: Lee; thank you for joining.

Okay, I am catching up. I am to page 20 so far. As I approach another Birthday and start over the hill, I'd better comment so far so I don't forget!!

I've been having that problem for a very long time now. :rotfl:

I hope that all the health issues in your family are settling down. Saying prayers for your son's friend, Alisha and your mother.

Thank you; that is very sweet of you. As you post later, unfortunately, we lost my son's friend and my mom; Alisha has a diagnosis and now we just have to find the best course of action for her.

Your great neice is adorable. Those stork bites were a great hidden Mickey.

Thank you; I can't believe how fast she is growing.

Love your DIS meet with Cynthia and her husband. Loved the bracelet she gave you. I really liked your pictures and descriptions so far of Kidani. Thanks for all the pictures. We are staying in a studio in January for 6 nights. I would love some pixie dust and a savannah view instead of our standard view but will just be glad to be staying there. Or for your bathroom I would look at the parking lot!!

It was great seeing Cynthia again and meeting Jeff. I have that bracelet on today. Kidani is wonderful. I will keep my fingers crossed for some pixiedust: that you get a savannah view.

Kathy,
As I have been reading your report last night, I am realizing what a Summer and Fall you have had. So very glad for answered prayers in Mark's job, more trips to plan, a beautiful great niece. Prayers going out to you and your family for all the loss-the young athlete, your friend, your Mom's passing, your brother's health. Praying for you all.

It's been a rough year and I am so ready for 2015. Mark is really enjoying his part-time work (although this week he is working 40 hours!). Thanks for the prayers.

I love your DIS meets. The sword fight is too cute. You are able to get so much done the last MK days I've read about. I am on page 66 now.

Thanks; it was a long time coming meeting Tim and his family, and Christopher and Mark had a lot of fun with that sword fight.

I guess it is time to keep reading or do some housecleaning...so which is is? Reading sounds like so much more fun!!:rotfl:

I agree...reading sounds like a lot more fun. I did have to put off my DIS time yesterday and really clean my house.

Dinosaur was a walk on? That worked out good for you! Love the pic :rotfl2:

Yes; there was no one in line. I could have gone a couple of more times if I had chosen too.

Interesting hats :confused3 Is that the Jammn' Jingle parade or do they have a new one?

This is just a little "dance party" they have in that area. It's the first time we have caught it.

Youu got some good Nemo pics. We haven't seen it yet - I guess you must have liked it since this is your second time. We have it on our list this time.

It's a really good show. It is a bit long, but it is very cute.

Hope Alisha will get some answers for what will help her.

I can't wait until she goes to the doctor on Wednesday. She is very discouraged right now. :(

I have never seen the butterfly magic shots!!! They are fantastic!!!

It's the first time we saw them too.

you guys always looks do damn cute. just love ya! The store is one of my favorites we spend a lot of time in there just looking at all the cool decorations. I honestly have about 600 pictures from there too.. :goodvibes
Never did the finding Nemo thing.. NEXT TIME!

Awww...you are very sweet Mo. Mark likes to spend a lot of time in that store too. See...another reason for another trip...so you can see Nemo.

Haha, Mark and his hats!! :lmao:

Glad we could entertain you, Julie.

Looks like a nice AK day! We're going to try to do Nemo for the first time in January...the costumes look really beautiful! I bet DD will love it!

I am sure your DD will love it too.

This looks horrible. The last 4 posts are from me.

I think a couple snuck in there before your fourth. ;)

The best thing accomplished last night and this morning...reading your entire trip report so far!! It was fun and I am anticipating my trip in 3 weeks.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm glad you are enjoying it. And so jealous that you are going in three weeks.

I have 3 favorite parks and 1 least favorite. The least favorite-Studios. Favorites-well that is easy the other 3

Yep, we aren't fans of the Studios either.

I love the tours of the parks. Love your pictures of Animal kingdom. In all of my trips I have never seen Finding Nemo. Guess where I'll be heading? Finding Nemo and Festival of the Lion King.

They are both great shows!

Great report so far.

Thanks, Lee.

Is it just me or does it kind of look like you are getting ready to squish the butterflies in that second magic shot?:rotfl:

I guess it does in a way, doesn't it?

:cheer2: Still going strong on the quitting? I know you can do it. :cheer2:

15 days and counting.

Love the hat pics.

Thanks.

I love the butterfly shot. I am not sure I have seen that one before. It's super cute.

I really like this one too; it's new to us as well.

I totally missed the post about you quitting smoking...but I am so proud of you. I have quit a few times and always go back like an idiot. I have gone years and then gone back. Why do I do that??? :rotfl2:

I quit when I was pregnant and then started up again. I'm hoping this is the last time I'll be trying to quit.

Haha, geez Kathy. It feels like we were doing the same day but just on different days, lol.

I was thinkign that as I was typing it. :lmao:

I like that Magic Shot with the butterflies.

Thanks, Rob.

Aww, nothing like a nice nap opportunity when a Dinosaur is roaring in your face. Well done!

It's fun trying to think of new things to do for the camera.

It's funny, but without Mark modelling so many, I'm sure I would never see most of these hats.

That's why I keep him around. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have still only seen the Nemo show one time. Wow, that's surprising. I quite enjoyed it that one time though.

I guess that means it is time to go back.

Love the magic butterflies shot!

Thanks, Pat.

Nice how you each got your rides.

It works well for the two of us.

A dance party in Dinoland??? :cool1: for a Daisy Meet.

Yes, kind of an odd place, but it was really cute with the characters they brought out. Love Daisy.

Finding Nemo is a once in awhile do for me too. :) FOLK is a must do every time. :):)

Well, we all know why FOTLK is a must do for you every trip, don't we? ;)

Getting caught up yet again...Your morning pictures of the Boardwalk made me really happy. We just booked an April trip and will be staying there, so your photos got me really excited!! I love that resort!

Oh how exciting. The Boardwalk, as I've said before, has really moved up on our "love" list.

I also appreciated the Festival of the Lion King pictures. I haven't seen that show in a few years, and really love it. I can't wait for Rory to see it - he is going to LOVE it!

Yes he is; it would be awesome if you got a front row seat and he got picked to participate.

Congrats on quitting smoking!

Thanks!

Do you know I've NEVER seen the Finding Nemo stage show at AK? I don't know why, but I always skip it!

First, you've never done Dumbo, and now you've never seen Finding Nemo? What am I going to do with you?

Mark and his hats. Dear lord. TOO FUNNY!! :lmao:

Be glad he isn't modeling tiaras. :lmao:

I love love love your Lion King shirt!

Thank you. We can thank Danielle for that...she introduced me to two stores -- Hot Topic and Wet Seal where they have a LOT of Disney clothes.

The dance party looks so much fun!

It was very cute; but VERY hot.

I'm a big fan of Redneck Ride Photos. :rotfl2:

I am too...especially if I misplace the one on the MM.

Those butterfly magic shots are ADORABLE.

I think so too.

Daisy! I love Daisy! How cute is she?!

She is very cute. I don't think I've ever seen her at Epcot though.

I have never seen the butterfly shot either! That must be new? I'm going to make a note of the location for our August trip. I would love to get that shot with my daughter.

I'm guessing it is new as I've never seen it either. I love it. It would be perfect for you and your daughter.

So far, we have never been on Dinosaur. I can never tell if its going to be too scary for my kids, so we haven't given it a shot yet. Maybe this year will be our year to be daring!

It's really not all that scary in my opinion. Have they ever done It's Tough To Be a Bug? If so, how did they handle that? I would use that as my p;oint of judgment.

I am in love with the butterfly shot! Will but that on my list for next trip! We have only seen Nemo once and that was back in 08 on our very first WDW trip. I need to revisit it as we always pass on it.

Thanks, Lori. It's a cute new shot. I think we saw Nemo two or three years ago so it was time to get back.

LOVE those Magic Shots! The butterflies are so sweet.

Aren't they though?

I adore Mark's hats. Particularly the Wookie and the Donald Duck ones, heehee.

The man is truly a child in a grown-up body.

Dinosaur is such a great ride! I'm sorry Mark isn't able to ride; it's rough on the back.

It's not his back, it's his neck. He is so afraid of hurting it again.

Cute pictures with Daisy! I feel like she's rarely around.:earboy2:

We've now seen her at AK, the Studios and MK. I don't think I've ever seen her at Epcot.

Hi there! Enjoying the TR as always. :) quick Q what is the name of your orange drink @ Olivia's? We love the breakfast there, it's wonderful!

Thank you. :) That is the Turtle Krawl...my favorite alcoholic beverage at Disney. You can get it at Gurgling Suitcase or order it at Olivai's. We enjoy breakfast at Olivia's too.

I agree with everyone else- the butterfly magic shot is AWESOME!!!

Thanks, Dee.

You have some really fun pix in Dinoland. The one of you in the "car" is great.

Thanks again.

Did you look for my favorite Hidden Mickey in the gift shop, the one made out of an extension cord/plug. I can see it in your picture, although it looks like it has been changed a little. It is on the right edge of the picture, about halfway, on the wall above the display of plush Mickeys. I only know about this because a CM working there showed it to me after one of the teens in my group made me cry.

I totally forgot to look for it. It does look a bit different from your picture. How dare someone make you cry!

:sad1:

I'll beat them up for you if they do it again.

I have never seen the AK dance party. KOOL! My family does not wait in line for characters, so I would love this random opportunity to interact with some. Wow! Hopper!

This was the first we knew of it. I was shocked when I saw Hopper.

I have only seen the Nemo show once. It is so visually stunning and you really got some great pictures! I love the aquarium one, but this is my favorite!

It really is visually stunning. Thanks; I like that one too.

Flame Tree to Africa to Dinosaur? That's really going around your elbow to get to your thumb.

I don't know what I was thinking. Or maybe I just forgot to include the pics at the right time? Anything is possible with me these days. :sad2:

Love it! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Mark. :)

I still haven't seen that one. Seems like there's always something to catch up on.

Just another reason for a trip back.

So I left you with us having watched the Nemo show at AK. We decided we were ready to head over to Epcot because it was stinkin' hot at the AK, and we knew at Epcot we could sit in air conditioning on some of the rides.

Before we left, we had some more photopass pictures taken:

We then made our way here

You might remember from the beginning of the trip report, that our wonderful CM checking us in at the AKL, was able to get us three additional FP+ selections. Therefore, we were able to do this as soon as we got to Epcot:

We are not fans of the new ride at all. I did attempt a few pictures during the ride:

Our next Fastpass was here:

Mark and his Mine Mine's

Continued in next post

We got in our clamshell and were off

We went to look at the fish

We left and had a rare photo op without anyone around

We were getting hungry, so we decided to head to World Showcase for our first experience with Food & Wine.

I took some pictures along the way:

And then we arrived. Thankfully, we weren't eating at this booth because the line was insane:

We didn't eat anything here, but I took a picture as a reminder of our trip there 31 years ago for our honeymoon

Up next, what will our first food of our very first Food & Wine be?

Cute tshirts!!!

We love The Seas...and regularly do the "mine, mine, mine" thing, haha!

Can't wait to see what F&W booth you visit first, and what some of your favorites are! :goodvibes

What fun magic shots out front of AK! I'll have to try and remember those.

Gotta Love the Nemo Seagulls! I think they're a favorite of mine.

That is quite the line for the Puerto Rico Booth!

What?? A Pascal Magic Shot??? I love that they keep adding more and more (even though I've never actually gotten one). The Jiminy one is fabulous!!!

I've never been a big fan of Test Track to be honest. I like it fine and will do if if I don't have to wait long (or single rider). It's fun but not a must do.

However, for some reason the Nemo ride I adore. I just find it calming I guess. And air conditioned.

Wow, I just realized I didn't spend any time at the aquarium at all, which is really odd. I guess I was just too pumped from Turtle Talk.

Ah good Kathy; You got a picture of the monorail. They will arrest you otherwise. :p

Love your pictures! Your Lion King top is adorable.

Can't wait to see all of the yummy things you tried at Food and Wine.

All caught up one more time, but knowing you......probably not for long! :rolleyes1

You got some amazing pictures on your Safari! And the backside of animatronic Lions……… :thumbsup2 I really need to try a backstage Disney tour one day. They always sound so fun and interesting. :cheer2:

Mira Joey is such a darling! I’m sure Joe was indeed taking all of those steps right along with her! :goodvibes

Like Mary Ellen said, I didn’t have a clue you smoked either. :confused3 So very glad you are quitting! Anything that keeps you around longer for us to enjoy knowing (and of course to have more time as a Granny) is a great thing! :woohoo:

Oh I am cracking up at Mark’s hat pictures………:rotfl2: Not exactly sure what that first one was, but it made Mark look like a caveman…..which I guess is perfect for DinoLand! And that dinosaur head…………….:lmao:

I need to look for that dance party! Lots of characters you don’t see often for sure! And for some reason, I just love the Finding Nemo show, even though I wasn’t too sure about it the first time I took it in.

I really loved all your PP pictures, and you got some Magic shots I’ve never seen before, which is cool. :cool1:

Once again, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom! The good news is she is finally without pain, but I know it makes this Christmas a little subdued for you. Hugs and kisses my friend. It’s been a tough year, so hoping 2015 is much better for you guys! And hoping Alisha is getting the answers she needs and things are looking up for her…………and grandkiddios!!! ::yes::

Not ambitious enough to cut and paste any pics right now, but I love that picture of the monorail. Cool perspective.

Your PP pics from AK are excellent. I love all the cool details, especially Jimminy Cricket. Nice! I also love your shirt.

Woo hoo for extra FP's and a bonus ride on Test Track.

Fun update! :thumbsup2

OH MY you have the BEST magic shots EVER!!!! these are fantastic!!!
your pictures are great too!!!! love the monorail and the no people with nemo!!! these are great! can't wait to hear about your first food!

popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

I totally forgot to look for it. It does look a bit different from your picture. How dare someone make you cry!

:sad1:

I'll beat them up for you if they do it again.

Here's the story from my Wicked Awesome or Epic Fail Class Trip Report. I think this was my favorite report- with all the drama it practically wrote itself!

A Teen Reduces Me to Tears

.

Great photopass pictures at AK!!! I have never had any done at that Everest spot before. I love that more and more fun magic shots, including some with animation, are being added to Memory Maker.

Nice to see a classic like Jiminy getting into the action!

:cool1:

That's great that you are using your anytime FP over at EPCOT. Such a nice gesture by the CM who helped you at checkin.

:goodvibes

Love these two pictures from Test Track!

What a spectacular picture! It just epitomizes EPCOT.

Do you know if there is a way to get to the aquariums without riding the clamshells? I think there is, but have never tried it. (Back when it was the Living Seas, Mark and I snuck in the back way through the "elevator" exit from Sea Base Alpha.

Looking forward to some Food & Wine samples.

:woohoo:

You got so many great Photopass shots at AK! Love all the magic shots.

I'm sorry you didn't like the new Test Track. I wasn't blown away by it, but I also didn't dislike it.

I think that I'll be going on the Nemo ride many times when we go in April. Rory has just discovered the movie, and is obsessed with it!

I love all the PhotoPass pictures - especially the magic shots! (I wish we had known about that Pascal one!)

Was this the first time you did new Test Track? I actually do like the new one, but I liked the old one too ... my favorite part hasn't changed much (the outdoor part).

I love that you got a picture of Mark and his "Mine!" shirt in front of the seagulls. And how did you get an empty picture in front of Dory, Marlin, and Nemo?? The only way I could ever get that picture empty is by photoshopping out other people! (come to think of it, I should probably try that ...)

:rotfl: @ Puerto Rico booth picture. We didn't pay that much attention to F&W because we can't eat the food, but we did see a few very long lines ... that's a lot of time to wait in line for some food! Seriously, people ...
