Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

I love your family photo in front of your tree! You guys are a good lookin bunch!

The resort photos are great. I love when the resorts are quiet and empty in the early mornings.

The tour sounds great; I love seeing how the animals are cared for. And what great photos! You got everyone, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, even the shot of the baboon butt!! That giant gorilla sleeping was cute; the silverbacks are a favorite of mine.

Kathy, I will get you that info. I have worked the last two nights so I haven't had a chance to get it to you.

Hi Kathy! I'm almost too embarrassed to say that I had to use the chapter links to get caught up. :flower3: I forget that you hadn't met Tim before this trip since it seems like you've been old friends forever. (Not just the virtual kind which is pretty awesome too!) Looks like you had a fabulous time hanging out with them and the kids.

The danger of reading TRs this late in the evening is when I see anything Kona Café or Crystal Palace makes me want to borrow your Mickey waffle maker! ;) I'm glad that Mark enjoyed the pot roast at LTT! The pressure of making recommendations and hoping it lives up to expectations is pretty big. :rotfl2:

Sorry for the rough last few weeks. I hope better days are ahead. With all the love and best wishes coming your way from all the lovely people here you are sure to have our spirits lifted.

Kathy,

Congrats on the decision to quit smoking. I'm pulling for you and keeping you in my prayers. I am 100% confident you will be...............................

SUCCESSFUL!!!!

I love the photos of the elephants and the giraffes!

Congrats on the decision to quit smoking! It's a big step. You can do it!

Love the picture of you and the kids by the tree ... definitely something that you will not be sorry you had taken :goodvibes

The backstage tour sounds very interesting - just the logistics of feeding all those animals and everything must be quite the undertaking.

Great lion pictures!

I am yet to do a tour at Disney but a number of them are on my "Disney Bucket List"

Kathy, I think I am caught up!! You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers for the last few months. For both the highs and the lows. I feel like we have been long time friends... although you don't know much about me.
Love reading about you trip. What a fun dis meet. Those kids are adorable.
Can't wait to read more. I will try to keep up.

Pat, one of the best burgers I've had at Disney. Is it the vegetables in the Pot Roast you can't have?

I should have told Mark to get one to go since I knew we were going back to the resort.

Yes all those vegetables ( carrots and celery) since they are marinated with the meat..... I have tried that and not eaten the vegetables but still feel yucky the next day. :headache:

Oh I am queen of getting the dessert to go. I do that most times at home but would need to be going right back to the room to do it at Disney.

Congrats on the start to quitting smoking. I wish you all the willpower you need to keep it going. :cheer2:

I will try to finish up replies tomorrow night some time. I have one more batch of Christmas cookies to make which I hope to get to in the morning. Tomorrow afternoon, we will be going to the high school across the yard from us to attend the Memorial Service for Joe of Cocktails and Chemo. I am sure it is going to e a very emotional affair.

I am at 6 days with no cigarettes.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Congrats on 6 days with no cigarettes! :cool1:

Best of luck finishing your Christmas cookies (Judi is currently at a cookie exchange so I definitely have cookies on the brain :rotfl2:)

Will be thinking of you and Joe and everyone involved tomorrow

Awesome that you guys did the Backstage Safari!

That baby elephant is so absolutely adorable.

Wow, you got the lion! I'm not kidding, all of the times I've been on the safari, I've only been able to get a good view of him once.

Woohoo 6 days no cigarettes!! Quitting is rough, but you'll feel SO much better once you're over the hump.

I'm sure the service was lovely, and very emotional. My thoughts are with you.

I had a lot of catching up to do (yes, again!) and there is just too much to comment on but let me say that I really enjoyed seeing the photos of your tour! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Karin.

Great updates. The tour looks great. Luvin all the animal pictures

Thanks, Emma. It was a great tour and we really got to see a lot of animals.

I love your family photo in front of your tree! You guys are a good lookin bunch!

Thanks. :)

The resort photos are great. I love when the resorts are quiet and empty in the early mornings.

After an empty Main Street at MK, this is my favorite time at DW taking it all in.

It was a really great tour, and I'm with you...love the silverbacks.

Thanks, Esther...I appreciate it.

No worries, Brenda. I myself have been behind quite often lately. Yes, this was our first face to face meeting with Tim and family. And we really did have a fabulous time.

Mark is going to make me waffles in it for the first time Tuesday. Nicki feels the same way about the recommendation of food, but neither of you have let us down.

Sorry for the rough last few weeks. I hope better days are ahead. With all the love and best wishes coming your way from all the lovely people here you are sure to have our spirits lifted.

Brenda, my DIS friends have been tremendous in lifting my spirits...you, Michael and Emily included. I'm counting on 2015 being a much better year.

Kathy,

Congrats on the decision to quit smoking. I'm pulling for you and keeping you in my prayers. I am 100% confident you will be...............................

SUCCESSFUL!!!!

Thanks, Bob.

Thank you. It's been a long time coming.

Thanks, Phil. It's one of my all-time favorites.

The backstage tour sounds very interesting - just the logistics of feeding all those animals and everything must be quite the undertaking.

It was amazing what they told us they do each day.

Great lion pictures!

Thanks.

I am yet to do a tour at Disney but a number of them are on my "Disney Bucket List"

There are still a few more we hope to do at some point.

Kathy, I think I am caught up!! You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers for the last few months. For both the highs and the lows. I feel like we have been long time friends... although you don't know much about me.

Sandy, thank you...you are very sweet...that I do know.

Love reading about you trip. What a fun dis meet. Those kids are adorable.

That must be so difficult.

Oh I am queen of getting the dessert to go. I do that most times at home but would need to be going right back to the room to do it at Disney.

I don't think I've ever gotten a dessert to go...I'm just a pig and eat it right away.

Congrats on the start to quitting smoking. I wish you all the willpower you need to keep it going. :cheer2:

Thanks, Pat.

Congrats on 6 days with no cigarettes! :cool1:

Thanks, Phil.

Best of luck finishing your Christmas cookies (Judi is currently at a cookie exchange so I definitely have cookies on the brain :rotfl2:)

I didn't like how my Vanilla Rings turned out at all and gave up. :( I'm going to make one more batch of Snickerdoodles next weekend and then will be done.

Will be thinking of you and Joe and everyone involved tomorrow

Thank you; it was a very warm service.

Congratulations. Keep up the good work :thumbsup2

Thanks, Emma.

Awesome that you guys did the Backstage Safari!

It was really interesting, Danielle.

That baby elephant is so absolutely adorable.

Isn't he? Mark wanted to take him home with him.

Wow, you got the lion! I'm not kidding, all of the times I've been on the safari, I've only been able to get a good view of him once.

It was the first time we ever saw them that well.

Woohoo 6 days no cigarettes!! Quitting is rough, but you'll feel SO much better once you're over the hump.

Oh trust me, there's not a minute that goes by that I don't want one. But I am determined.

I'm sure the service was lovely, and very emotional. My thoughts are with you.

I went through two packages of kleenix. Life just isn't fair sometimes.

Oh, your photos of Princess Tiana take my breath away! I tell Squeaks that she's my favorite princess (she probably is, but it's quite a contest. I love Tiana and Rapunzel, and Belle will always have a special place in my heart as my childhood favorite). Those pictures...oh she's just wonderful. I can't wait to meet her.

Thank you for sharing, and I'm sorry I'm so behind! <3

The Memorial Service for Joe this afternoon was quite lovely. There were a lot of tears--both men and women. His and Amanda's daughter, Mira Joey, is simply precious. She took her first steps the day after her daddy passed away. Today she was all over that gymnasium...walking with her daddy's guiding hands, I am sure. I'd guess there were around 450 people in the gym, and they broadcast the service for those who couldn't make it.

Please keep Amanda and Mira Joey in your prayers. This will be a tough month for them as their first Christmas without Joe and Mira Joey's first birthday is December 19.

So we had just finished our Backstage Safari Tour and had been blessed with seeing numerous animals on the safari portion.

We had our first Fastpass for the afternoon for something Mary and the girls and I had skipped in June because of a mix-up with our trying to change our fastpasses.

We were headed here:

It's a nice new area, but it is HOT standing in the sun to get in to the theater, even in the FP line. But I continued to take pictures as we waited to get let in.

And then we were let into the new theater

I didn't take a lot of pictures of the show because I just wanted to enjoy it this time. Here's the best of what I did take.

For Pat:

It was a great show, as always.

We were getting hungry at this point so decided to go and get lunch.

A few pictures along the way

These walls were everywhere at the AK:

Continued in next post

We arrived at our lunch destination

Our view from our table

My lunch

I was very disappointed in it. I used to love this meal, but the ribs were really tough. Next time, I'll stick with the pork sandwich.

The onion rings were very good though

Mark enjoyed his pork sandwich

Look up

Lunch over, it was time to move on

We did some shopping

And then it was time to go to Mark's fastpass (I would be sitting this one out) so we headed that way:

I waited for Mark and obviously took all those pictures. :lmao: Unfortunately, the ride picture was NOT working so I didn't get it on our Memory Maker.

Up next, we get some Photopass pictures, see a dinosaur and another show.

Tiana was beautiful and very gracious. We enjoyed our meet with her very much.

Mira Joey is to cute. I hope they are ok over Christmas. It's hard losing someone at the best of times but I think the closer it is to holidays the worse it is.

Luvin your updates. I love the Lion King show.
Luvin Mark's Mine birds t-shirt as well btw
