Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

you lunch looks very tasty (especially the pot roast) - glad you enjoyed it and a favorite did not disappoint :thumbsup2

Oh no! That's too bad about the rain but at least (well, at least for you and Mark) you were leaving the park and not heading towards it. Sorry to hear about it impacting Hallowishes though.

The topper on the cupcake you got is super cute :goodvibes

Liberty Tree Tavern is one of those reservations I've always wanted (and had twice!) but we've never been able to accommodate with our schedule. The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake just looks like the best thing ever.

Ugh, the rain. Something we've managed to avoid pretty well in past trips, but there's so much space between everything that it's unavoidable if you're caught out in it...

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! We actually had some decent weather over the weekend! :thumbsup2

Kathy, I am with you on the LTT; it along with CP for breakfast are always on my to do list of ADR's at the MK. I've never had a burger at LTT, but I have had the pot roast and I agree with Mark, it is excellent. But not having room for dessert, how can you do that?:confused3:confused3 Perhaps one of the best desserts in all of WDW is found there with the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. :goodvibes;)

Sorry to hear that the rain put a damper on things. Here's to a lot of pixie dust for your next visit with nothing but comfortable temperatures and sunny skies your whole visit. :goodvibes :beach:

Also love your pics of the Boardwalk Bakery. There is no way a visit to Disney is complete without stopping by the bakery and indulging in a snack from there. Your cupcake looked awesome by the way, and for me there is no such thing as something being too sweet. Loved the look of that thing with the Oreo Cookie on it.

I can't wait to hear all about your new tour. I have never done a tour in Disney myself but think that may change when we go back in June. I think we are going to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope that you were able to semi-enjoy Thanksgiving with some family time. :grouphug:

Great pics on the Mine Train! I'm still so mad we missed the PP on that ride by days. Next year.

I love that Gabby is so serious. It won't last. Maura used to be like that. Now she's a clown.

Liberty Tree Tavern looks good! I could go for some clam chowder.

Sorry you had to make a run for your car. Glad you were close, at least!

Those deserts look yummy, and even though your cupcake was too sweet, it was so cute!

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.

Lunch looks goo-ood! I've heard such great things about Liberty Tree Tavern but I always think Columbia Harbor House is LTT when I'm in MK, so I've eaten at CHH like 8 times trying to find LTT.

Sorry your evening plans got rained out, Florida weather is very unpredictable. But it looks like you had some yummy desserts and a good nights rest! Sometimes that's what us need, especially in WDW!! :goodvibes:

LTT is on my list of still to try. That burger looks delicious but the pot roast for me is a no go. :sad2:

I would have to fit the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake in somehow. :rolleyes1

Ah the rain that just pours. At least you were going out and almost made it. I guess in the end it is a good thing you didn't have tickets for the Halloween party.

Well, we finally got the results. As Alisha sensed all along, she has fibromyalgia. The good news is that it is not a life threatening illness or disease (unlike what the doctor in Dubuque thought she had), but the bad news is there is no cure. She will work with her doctors to see what plan of action...meds, massages (which her hubby freely gives her), oils, diet, etc. She is going to talk to the doctor to see how long she can wait to start the meds and do the other things as she and Markie want to start working in the New Year on giving Mark and I a grandbaby and she definitely does not want to be on meds before or during her pregnancy. She is a tough girl as she has probably had this two or three years and she normally works through the pain...she refuses to let it run her life (she plays softball and volleyball). But there are those days when the pain is so bad that she does not want to get out of bed.

Thanks for all the prayer for her.

Trying to stay caught up here. ;)
Loved your little day with Tim and family. Looks like you had a great time! Tiana's dress is so pretty.
I do love a good Dole Whip float! I know you didn't care for them, but I found them very refreshing (of course, I'm thinking the LaFou's Brew beats the Dole Whip these days for me).

You got really lucky with your FP+ for the Mine Train! :thumbsup2

Fun for Mark to get to play swords. You would have had to play otherwise! :rotfl:

Bummer for those folks that were headed to the party on a rain-soaked evening.

We have only done LTT once-for dinner back when there were still characters. We did it on a MNSSHP day. The characters were all decked out in their finest Halloween costumes. It was a fun meal.

Happy to hear Alicia has an answer. Sorry to know there had to be anything wrong at all. Will continue to pray she can manage without meds for the time being.

I will be headed to the Kris KringleMarket next week on Wednesday. Maybe you could pop over for an early lunch.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about Alisha, but yet at the same time very glad to hear that her diagnosis is not life threatening. With her being so young hopefully the medical field will make great strides in treating and even finding a cure for Fibromyalgia.

As for their wanting to "work" on giving you and Mark a grandbaby, I wouldn't exactly call it work, LOL... :lmao: Seriously, my thoughts and prayers are with Alisha and I hope to hear about you and Mark being a grandma and grandpa. You both will make wonderful grandparents. :goodvibes

I'll say it here too:
I am so sorry to hear the news on Alisha. Glad they know what it is and hopefully will come up with something soon to help with it.

BUT GRANDBABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

Thank you for sharing the update on Alisha. I am sure just knowing something makes things a little better and definitely glad to hear that it isn't life threatening.

Hope things work out with the grandbaby and the way you describe her I am sure she will do all she can from her end to make things work out!

LTT looks so good! We have never eaten there and I know Brenda loves the place too and their pot roast. One of these days we will get there. Love the desserts at the BW Bakery!! I have told myself after this trip no sweets or carbs for a entire month to make up for all the wrong we are fixing to do :lmao:

It's good to finally get an official diagnosis and I hope everything works out.

We really like LTT. Funny thing is that the cheeburger there is only a couple dollars more than the counter service ones and you can relax in air conditioning enjoying it. I tend to make a gluton of myself at the dinners there!

Love your mine train photos!

I'm glad to hear Alisha at least has an answer to what's wrong (and that it's not life-threatening), but sorry to hear that it's something with no cure. I hope she and her doctors can find a way to manage her pain and still live her normal life.

After Tim, Grandma, Juliana, Christopher, Mark and I rode, it was time for Mel to go so she went off with Grandma and Juliana and Christopher (I don't remember for sure).

Nice Mine Train photos! It looks like a worthy addition to the Magic Kingdom.

Before we could get to our next destination, Tim had to stop for one of these

Because it's heaven in a cup!:thumbsup2

And Mark finally found his match (even before we went on the ride)

The man was happy as a clam to finally have his sword fight. :)

Love it! I'm sure Christopher was one of his favorite duelists.

If you haven't guessed, we are at Liberty Tree Tavern.

Mmm....good stuff.

Once again, I'm so sorry to hear of the news about your mom. I hope your family has nothing but good memories and is drawing close around you. And I'm glad Alisha now has a name for her pain. Not that it makes things easier, but now she can finally form a game plan. That's a good thing.

So many good updates I have missed!!! Love the photo of the Dwarf cabin that you took. I could totally live there. pixiedust: Although, we did our best to hit the New Fantasyland highlights when we were there last year, there is so much we still have not experienced. One of these days! :thumbsup2

It looks like you all had so much fun with Tim and family! What cute kiddos! :goodvibes

I am so sorry Alisha has Fibromyalgia. I do not have it, but I have many friends who do...not fun stuff at all. I hope she and her doctor are able to work out a plan of action that will bring her some relief...AND make it safe for her to give you guys some grandbabies! You two are going to be the BEST grandparents ever!!!! I cannot wait two or three years down the road to read about you taking your grandbabies to Disney for the first time!!! :dance3:

So sorry to hear this news. I am glad it isn't life threatening, but still a life long issue. I am no doctor but I would ask if maybe a nutritionist could help with a diet that may alleviate pain. Hopefully she has a good outlook as a positive attitude can help a lot with these things.

Another great update! I cannot wait to ride the mine train. Hoping to get a FP+ for when I go in Feb.

Looks like Mark has met his match with Christopher in the sword fight! Who won?

Your chowder looks so good! I am always leery when ordering Clam Chowder outside of New England. Just call me a chowder snob!

Sorry you didn't get to see Hallowishes. Always stinks when the rain puts a kink in the plans!

Glad to finally be caught up again. I have been MIA once more. We lost my little puppy (9 years old so he wasn't exactly a puppy), early yesterday morning so it has been a very rough 24 hours. Always so hard to lose a pet.

Kathy, I was so far behind on your TR, it's almost sad, LOL!

I am so glad you enjoyed the first part of your stay at AKL. So far it seems like you enjoyed the Boardwalk, too! I cannot wait to stay there someday to experience being able to walk to Epcot during F&W. Nice!

I am so envious of your food pics.. Looks so yummy right now! We too enjoy Earl of Sandwich and CP for breakfast. We have never done Liberty Tree Tavern, but I have been seeing some lunch posts and it really looks delicious!

I'm so sorry to hear about Alicia, but so glad to hear it isnt' anything life threatening. I hope she is able to find a way to get some relief.

And Grandbabies?!?!?!?!?!?!?! You and Mark will be wonderful grandparents!:yay:
