Ever since we took it on the trip where we took Arline home, it has been slow and it had a hard time starting up when we got back. I finally got sick of it on Monday and called our computer guy thinking that there was a virus on it. The bad news is that it did NOT have a virus, so he had to take the computer to run 5-6 hours of diagnostic on it.

He'll get back to me in the next day or two and he may have to wipe it clean to it's original state. I backed up all the documents and pictures before he took it, so

Mains water has been cut at my place....at least since noon that I know if (about 2.5 hours ago). At least another 2 hours before they can restore it!!!!

Why did they cut the water?

I walked around the block and found the water company hard at work. Lots of earth dug up around 3 guys, who were in a deep hole. There was a water pump working but it seems like it was pumping out brown muddy water. I didn't disturb them but I'm guessing that the pipes may have sprung a leak there or something.

Thats the worst feeling when you want a shower and find no water.

That's nuts! I can't believe that they can do something like that without giving you days adavance notice! Yikes I hope you have enought toilets.....

If it's an emergency leak, I'm pretty sure they can do what needs to be done. That's how it seems to be here, anyway.

Water mains regularly burst in Sydney well...we had a spate of them.
The trouble is so many run under roads that are getting heavier and heavier traffic on them.
So...there is no way of giving you a days warning
But yes they warn for any planned shut off.

A friend of mine in Michigan was without power for 33 hours a few days ago
Worst part...the Starbucks Strawberry and Creme ice cream didn't survive
It was so hot they kept going to maccas for the A/C

Water came back on by 3.30 pm so everything was good.
