Hope you're feeling better PIO. Went to Costco this morning...Oh.....MY ..... GOSH!!!! :headache:
Man...an hour for the checkout queue....and we were 'luckier' than the later arrivals.
Things were busy but well organised when the family went opening day. Today it was a free for all. Utter Chaos. And the staff are useless. There were about 7 standing in a bend in the entry ramp from the roadway smoking and blocking the way. The best staff were in the checkout and doing a great job. But the in store staff were useless. My mum couldn't believe how different it was to opening day...which had a longer but more organised queue.

Anyway...our 16" pizza is in the oven ::yes:: Great store. Just need less people. I think the best seller was the toilet paper :lmao:

I couldn't believe it when I read that you were planning on visiting on Saturday. It is a little bit better in the Melbourne store now that we're over the 2 year mark. But it is still bedlam...not quite a free for all these days...but it is incredibly busy.

We normally go to Costco on a Monday morning. Much better and they normally re-stock the shop with fresh stuff.

What did you think of the products?

You have to be kidding??? It's still going to bad in two years from now :sad2:
I didn't want to...I really didn't...but my mum convinced me. And given day one was managed well I figured it wouldn't be any worse?? right?? :scared1: So wrong...
I wanted to have a look at some point so given I leave the house about 7am and don't get back home until about 7:30pm that leaves limited options during the week....
So yes along I went...

We visited the Melbourne one the easter before last when we were down for a sticky beak. It was during a weekday morning I guess? The whole area was fairly quiet....except for the ice rink (soooooo jealous of you having a hockey rink :snooty: ) so I knew the kind of stuff...

I think it's a great store. I think the product range is good and there are some really good bargains. Not everything is...some things are a great price...others just good...but you certainly are saving money.
I'm really tempted by the Swarovski Watches.....but I'd think they're still cheaper in the US. It's just I haven't really noticed the range of watches before.
We got some Joseph Joseph chopping boards so I'm hoping they get the bowl set in at some point :dance3: Also got some new induction capable pots and pans for if we ever replace our 30yo stove :rotfl2: Yep....the money goes to holidays...not on a new kitchen :rolleyes1
ETA - Do you know if their prices on electrical are great or just good. Just looking at TVs (yet another thing we are living in the dark ages with...wide screen?? what's that?? Oh right...the stuff that makes people look tall...or cut off. It's a real bugger with some subtitles :lmao: )
Anyway...they seem good. But just didn't know if you knew if they're fair? With the dollar so high I just don't know if I should do more price hunting?
[If you aren't know no worries...I'm more curious about your 'experience' rather than specific prices.]

What I really liked is that they do stock Aussie and NZ made food stuffs....in some ranges I reckon more than some supermarkets. And the savings on real juice :woohoo: I got cloudy apple juice and the really nice 'pressed' apple clear juice at so much cheaper.

Trust me...I'd much rather be there on a weekday morning...but...just not possible

Oh....and I got me mega bag of Crasins :rotfl:

Hey Dana?? How's the weather going? I know it's been hot but I follow the United Airlines feed on facebook and lately there's always some kind of travel waiver on offer. This is the latest -
"Strong overnight storms left high water on roads around O'Hare. There will be some delays and cancellations as travelers, airline workers and airport workers are delayed getting to the airport. We are working to keep delays to a minimum. Check flight status at united.com and continental.com before heading to the airport. And if driving, be careful out there."

Hope you're ok in your neck of the woods :)

We head to costco about once every 2 months and stock up. We get the Apple Juice too.....DS likes that in his lunchbox.

It's a bit more civilised on the weekend; but it is very busy because the prices are good.

I need a sleepy waking up smiley. Today is another long day of boxes and unpacking and all sorts of crap.

We just went out for breakfast and it was crappy. Now I'm gonna get some real coffee.

I'm not sure how I initially missed that Costco chatter, but we've had multiple locations for 20 years and we still avoid the place on weekends. I won't even ser foot in the place between Thanksgiving and Christmas! :scared1:
