errr....it moves in multiple ways...
There is certainly West to East movement as we had a red dust storm that started in the far side of NSW and ended up in Sydney.

But we are largely joking about the whole weather thing with Melb and Syd...
and BTW...Sydney is predominantly NORTH rather than west or Melbourne
