I have an accent like shushh. Mild Aussie ....also known as "posh aussie" by some people...
It's well understood across the globe. They'll hear an accent but I don't usually need to repeat myself like some Aussies do.

My accent is the same...although I think it might be a touch more ocker than shushh's. I think it's pretty distinctively Aussie but when I'm in Europe, they all ask if I'm American and when I'm in America, they all ask if I'm from England!

I've never been asked if I'm American...but I regularly get asked if I'm English.
In California they're getting a bit cleverer noticing that we aren't English...but....we ain't from round here

I have Irish skin so I blend in until I talk in England.

I challenged the Old Fogies to the Canned Creamed Corn posting. The idea was that whilst I was away, they were supposed to post "Canned Creamed Corn" in different threads. The Old Fogies thread didn't count and we were supposed to tally up a winner when I got back from California.
