Hi everyone,

Good to be back. Long time since last post. Have been to WDW Florida twice now, novices I know :( ...

Want to go back this year, but family growing up now. One daughter, late teen at Uni., other daughter early teens taking GCSE's

The question(s)... am looking for a 'last minute' arrangement, anyone any advice?

Assume date for travel is May/June/July (can't be more definite I’m afraid!)

- should I look for a late deal closer to the date
- if so, where? (local travel agent, internet, TV etc...)
- any good tips for own organised fly/drive holiday (both previous trips have been package deal)
- anything else?

I know how helpful you all are... thanks in anticipation.

Hi Mike,

We too used to always book packages but we've now got used to doing more DIY stuff.

I'd try places like www.expedia.co.uk and www.travelcity.co.uk for fly drives or even packages, if you want to stay off site. On these sites you can play around with dates and see what comes up.

With two grown up daughters you may want to consider a villa for more privacy (or even bathrooms :p )

There a literally hundreds of web sites for villas but many reccomend www.vrbo.com.

Happy planning

Hi Mike,

We did a last minute deal in October,

We used the teletext holiday pages online and phoned all the companies to get an idea of prices.

If you are flexible for the dates and there only 2-3 of you there is a better chance of getting a cheap last minute deal. some flights from £99. www.flycheapuk.co.uk or www.cheapestflights.co.uk
were good when we were looking.

For hotels try www.hotelkingdom.com we used them with no problems and got a reasonable price for our hotel too and
www.villadirect.com have condos in windsor palm form $75 per night.

Hope this helps

We have been to Orlando about 12 times in last 10 years and done it every way possible.
If you don't mind charter flights late deals are fine but try to stay away from school holidays.
Companies like Travel city direct offer late flights but they tied us to their car hire by telling us the cheap flight included a £60/person discount if we used their car hire. They wanted £600 for a hotel but got the same off Expedia for £300.
We prefer to book in advance and get early booking discounts. Watch for special offers on flights, hotels and car hire. Oct this year I have put a package together myself with flights, 3* hotel, Full size car(incl), and 7 night Disney cruise for less than £1000 per person half of this is the cruise. With late deals when they add on TOD, inflight meals, airport tax, and everything else they can think of you probably get upto around the same price.
Check out https://www.airline-network.co.uk/hotels/index.asp for hotels and car hire.
http://www.usarooms.co.uk/ for hotels.
http://www.midashotels.com hotels from £14 a room in Oct.
Need any more sites or info just shout.

If your DD is taking GCSEs be careful of dates, some spill into early June. You can find out provisional dates by looking at the exam board sites like www.ocr.org (will depend on which subject is which board, the sc hool will know).
I'd second the villa/teenage girl/bathroom issue!
